Tyrion gallantly refused to perform the consummation, but how long will daddy let that be the case?!

Yea, I freaked a bit when he left the knife behind!

To be fair, he still has a sack full of them. On top of that, they had no idea if more were coming.

Sam really left behind the obviously special knife capable of killing those undead monsters.

Things went a bit farther than this during the failed consummation in the books, but Tyrion's better nature prevailed in the end. He's definitely a much more gray character than in the show though. I believe he even had Bronn murder a bard whose company Shae enjoyed very much, though she's also much more manipulative in the books. Edit: The birds probably wanted to warn Sam. And you wouldn't believe how many people were annoyed at the time that Sam didn't pick the obsidian knife back up. xD

That name has some serious magic attached!

I kinda want ERB to do a Samwell vs Samwise. XD

Peter was such a fantastic actor here. This is also one of the few occassions I did feel bad for Cersei, since her, Tyrion, Loras, and Sansa all hate their circumstances for the same reasons. I also love Olenna mocking The Lannister family dynamics and how confusing it will be when all the marriages are said and done. XD "And so my watch begins" I love that he says that; it's what The Night's Watch brothers say when they swear off of being with a woman, marrying, or having kids. Daario shot up fast on my list of characters I like for killing Maaro. But yep, Dany gained another badass plus 1,998 Second Sons. So those crows were gathering around Samwell and Gilly to warn them that a White Walker was coming for them by a certain entity and they chase after Sam and Gilly to make them continue running towards The Wall. The books do a better job of conveying this since the show just seems to do it for added effect rather than the narrative reasons GRRM did it for. Actually if memory serves the scene in the books is A LOT more terrifying. Also, mad props to our boy Samwell, he's the first man to kill a White Walker in thousands of years!

DevilJynx

What is it with these medieval fantasies and badasses named Sam?
