Foundry VTT Access & Setup Guide

Since September 2025, Eightfold Paper offers fully prepped, plug-and-play FoundryVTT modules designed to drop straight into your campaigns. Here's what you get as a Foundry-access patron:

What You Get

• 🧙 Paper Wizard: Access to the last 3 months of Foundry VTT modules.
  Once installed, maps remain in your library permanently — they don’t disappear after the access window.

• 🦸 Paper Hero: Access to all existing Foundry modules + future updates to those packs as they evolve.

All our modules come preconfigured with:

• Dynamic lighting

• Walls and elevation

• Visual effects

• Dynamic transparency for otherwise blocked views

• Background/Ambient soundscapes

• The Dynamic Fold – toggle visual layers, props, effects, and even full map variants with just a click!

How to Set Up Eightfold Paper in FoundryVTT

⚠️ Note: FoundryVTT content is currently available only to Paper Wizard and Paper Hero patrons.

Follow these steps to unlock your content:

Step 1: Link Your Patreon Account

1. Go to foundryvtt.com and log in.

2. Visit your profile.

3. Scroll to the Unlinked Accounts section and click Patreon.

4. Once linked, check your ‘subscribed content’ — you should see Eightfold Paper listed.
   Give it a minute or two to update.

Step 2: Install the Module Pack

1. Open the FoundryVTT Launcher.

2. Click the Add-on Modules tab.

3. Select Install Module and search for Eightfold Paper.

4. Install the modules you want.

5. Foundry may suggest two optional dependencies:

   • Tagger and Monk’s Active Tile Triggers
     These are highly recommended for full functionality of our Dynamic Fold feature — though technically optional.

Step 3: Enable the Modules

1. Launch your game world in Foundry.

2. Go to Game Settings (⚙️ icon) → Manage Modules.

3. Enable the Eightfold Paper module(s).

4. Enable the recommended dependencies if prompted.

5. Hit Save Module Settings to refresh.

Step 4: Import the Maps

1. Open the Compendium Packs tab (📓 icon).

2. Find the Eightfold Paper Map Packs folder.

3. Either:

   • Right-click a pack and select Import All, or

   • Open the pack and drag individual maps into your Scenes tab.
     
     

Done! You're ready to explore.
