Couldn't agree more! I liked the original, but I genuinely have liked pretty much everything better so far about this remake!

2025-01-04 19:06:17 +0000 UTCI feel like you're going to like this version of Ryoga a little more, the filler in the original does him a bit of a disservice. Ranma and Akane's relationship is just so much better in the remake, it gets the time and focus early on that it needs, their chemistry together feels so much more natural and their back and forth feels more even and less mean spirited. Like, the remake being more faithful to the manga clearly helps, but it's all the little things coming together perfectly, like the voice actors, most of the original voice cast returned for the remake, including Ranma and Akane's VAs, so they have a lot more experience now, and have a much better understanding of their characters dynamics. The better pacing helps a ton, like I feel Akane's hair getting cut in the remake is a bit more impactful because of just how quick and unexpected it feels, the original telegraphed the moment quite a bit. The remake so far is honestly a pretty flawless adaptation to me, I'm so glad it's doing well and season 2 is already confirmed, so I'm fairly confident we'll get the full manga adapted.
