DROGO'S IN ROUGH SHAPE! - Game of Thrones 1x9-1

You should watch the histories and lores at the end of season 1

James

You're spot on with Varys(The Eunich) He was genuinely trying to save Ned's life in a way that someone like him would. Varys is a schemer, but he's honest in his intentions, well sort of. He is duplicitous with the lords and ladies, but honest with the common people as he himself is not of a noble or royal lineage. Walder Frey is also the actor who played Filch(The angry bitter groundskeeper) in Harry Potter. Catelyn Stark is also played by the actress who portrayed Hermione's mother. Longclaw, the sword given to Jon, is made of Valyrian steel which means a dragon played a role in its forging. Mormont is giving Jon a priceless gift, which shows that he does admire and appreciate him, especially since he saved his life. Also that wight(corpses the white walkers control) proves that the man who Ned executed in Episode 1 was right. The White Walkers have returned. Also when Tyrion was explaining the wildmen's lack of temperament and he said "Gunther" I instinctively thought to myself "The Ring General?" XD Jorah was right about how The Dothraki operate. Similar to Ghengis Khan's death and to a lesser extent, Alexander The Great's; the lieutenants under them formed their own factions after their respective deaths and the two empires became divided and eventually formed their own nations. The Dothraki will have a power vacuum and Dany and her son will be seen as rivals and threats; both would be killed.

Heavenly Demon

Walder Frey is one of the more interesting characters in this series (absolute scum but still interesting). He's in his 90's (the actor is much younger than than the character) and has had 7 wives, a ton of children and a small army of grandchildren. He's the epitome of the slimy old businessman who refuses to relinquish power or die pretty much just out of pure spite. Also, not sure if you noticed (since there are so many characters in this series) but the commander of the Night Watch gave John Snow his son (Jorah)'s sword who he said fled the country after disgracing his house. The knight serving Daenerys Targaryen is also named Jorah and he did mention he had to flee after being caught selling slaves.
