Have we finally taken on the full novel Dracula by Bram Stoker? Count on it!
We’re joined on our journey into the Carpathians by author and game designer Ken Hite! Do yourself a favor and pick up his vampire-spy game Night’s Black Agents and hang on for The Dracula Dossier!
Thanks to Andrew Leman for bringing the maximum Draculosity! As always, you should shop The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society like vampires are coming and only Lovecraft T-shirts can keep them at bay!
Did you like the sound of that ending platter? Well it’s Batman, Wolfman, Frankenstein or Dracula by The Diamonds!
Next week – what do you think, sucka? More Dracula!

Was just watching the Carloff Dracula film and thought back to this episode. You'd made a comment about Dracula acting as his own staff, dropping Harker off at the front door then running upstairs with the luggage and getting back just in time to present an aristocratic demeanor as he greets him at the door. I'd had a similar reaction on the first reading, so I didn't stop to think about it much beyond that. While watching the Castle Dracula scene it occurred to me that Dracula isn't alone at his castle. Even if we assume the Romani caravan we read about later doesn't arrive until it's presented in the novel, he still has his "brides" there with him, and could certainly have one preparing the meal, while another starts the fire, and the third brings up the luggage, leaving him time to compose himself. All of which kind of leaves me wanting the 1960/70's sitcom version of the story, complete with Black Adder level special effects (rubber bats on clearly visible wires flapping to a voiceover, that kind of thing), where that scene plays out like the "boss coming over for dinner" episode. The Romani, who make an appearance in the fourth episode are his work buddies who came over for the game and didn't leave (or maybe in-laws?). And then you have his "work trip" to London around episode 6. Anyone remember what channel on interdimensional cable airs that show?
