My spookiest experience involved sound being dropped out. I was an art student in Aberdeen in the early 1980s. There was a row of tenement flats that the city no longer thought fit to house the general population so they used them as student housing. I shared a room with a bloke called Jim. On the night in question I had gone to bed while Jim was still out. I woke first to a standard sleep paralysis experience- dark figure standing at the foot of my bed and I being unable to move. When I could move and sat up the figure vanished. Sitting up in bed, I caught a movement from the corner of my eye. I turned thinking Jim had come in as I slept. I saw two ghostly children in nightgowns playing on Jim's bed. I snapped my bedside lamp on and the children disappeared. I also became aware of the very loud from the flat above. Up until then I had only been aware of the sounds I made. I think it's all an example of different parts of my mind waking in a staggered fashion, rather than together, but this is only conjecture,
