Our Magic Item Cards are objects you can find in our world, usually accompanying the series we tackle that month. This might help you visualize the world and its creations better: add items for effects on your players, simply add them to your treasure box for flavor or use them as a quest item.

“Riddled with markings of words not easily comprehended by the common tongue and laden in drool, this magical bone brings in a friend. The only sensible words read aloud ‘Good Boy’ and do not tell you anything else. Yet, there is a feeling of familiarity with the object and a sense of closeness.”
You can use this magical bone by throwing it down on an unoccupied space within range and saying the words “Good Boy.” Immediately, with the bone in its mouth, you gain the service of a familiar; a spirit in the form of a skeleton dog. Appearing on the unoccupied space, the familiar has the statistics of a cat, though it is considered (your choice) either a beast or undead. Your magical companion strives to be your best friend and functions as any cat familiar would.

“Made from an ancient creature’s bones, imbued with magic, and left with nothing but its sturdiness and strong personality—the Helmosaurus Vex is one to behold. Before its death, it loved to eat. After death, it still loves to eat. As a fine diner it can’t help but open its mouth.”
While wearing this helmet, you gain a +1 bonus to AC and saving throws.
In addition, the helmet will control the head’s movement and attempt to bite anyone other than the wearer within 5 ft. A creature attacked by the helmet must succeed a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw to evade the helmet’s sharp teeth or take 1d8 piercing damage from the bite. If the bite misses, the helmet will instead accidentally bite the wearer for 1d4 piercing damage.

Wondrous Item (musical instrument) | Very Rare | Requires Attunement

“Once the instrument of a self-proclaimed King of Death, this magical instrument rises to the occasion with loud and powerful sounds. In the right hands, this instrument can produce niche sounds frightening to some, and beautiful to others.”
You can use an action to spend up to 5 minutes giving an unforgettable performance with this magical lute. Any creature that can hear your song within 50 ft. is considered enthralled by the song. While playing the lute, your speed is reduced by 20 ft. and you cannot take any actions. You stop playing the instrument when you choose to stop your performance at any time or by taking damage. When stopped, you gain 1 level of exhaustion + 1 level of exhaustion for each minute that you played your song.
If a creature within range is considered an enemy and enthralled, the creature must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become Frightened while under the influence of your song.
If a creature within range is considered friendly and enthralled, the creature is invigorated and gains an additional +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made while under the influence of your song.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
While holding the weapon, you can choose between 2 effects.
*Aura of Radiance: You are surrounded by a 15-foot radius aura that
grants you and all friendly creatures within the radius advantage on saving
throws against spells and other magical effects.
*Blade of Radiance: Your blade is surrounded by a mystical, white veil along
its edges. Each strike inflicts an extra 1d6 radiant damage. When the creature
is an undead, each strike inflicts an extra 3d6 radiant damage instead.
