BLAST FROM THE PAST! - Jobless Reincarnation 2x9

The reason Rudy doesn't put two and two together is that Sylphie said she was from the Fittoa region. But she didn't say she was Buena village. That probably would have tipped him off, since it was a small village, there can't have been that many half-elves. Plus someone who was involved in the Fittoa region's teleportation disaster. Probably would've had the same reaction talking about their Mom and Dad. After hearing what Nanahoshi said. It was generic enough for him to not put two and two together. Nanahoshi's an interesting addition to the story. In your typical isekai anime, people are either teleported or reincarnated. One or the other, if more people than the protagonist are isekai'd they usually arrive via the same means. So Nanahoshi introduces an interesting concept of there being two different ways to arrive in another world, both within the same story. I don't know if anyone's ever done that before. Also she's something of an inversion of the typical Isekai protagonist, or at least the most common type in modern Anime. Most Isekai protagonists these days are people who have nothing really going for them in the real world. So usually they don't want to go back because the new world/life is much better than the old one. With Nanahoshi it's the opposite she wants to go back. That's a storyline that's typically seen these days. It was more common back in the 80s and 90s, that the end goal of an Isekai was to save the world as a means of eventually being able to go home. (Though sometimes after the journey was over, the protagonist would have grown attached to the world and want to stay when the choice was finally presented). I think Nanahoshi as a character is a return to that style of Isekai protagonist. It's interesting.

At the beginning of the episode Pursena was poking Rudy with the meat she's always snacking on, then he started eating it so that's why she was saying "Don't eat it!"
