Our Item Cards are objects you can find in our world, usually accompanying the series we tackle that month. This might help you visualize the world and its creations better: add items for effects on your players, simply add them to your treasure box or use them as a quest item.  

We held a poll earlier this month in which we asked all of you guys to tell us what sort of Item Cards you would like to see for The Great Library. We received a lot of helpful feedback and suggestions! Thanks for that, guys! We want to thank Erez for the winning vote (Librarian’s Cloak) and everyone who participated in the suggestions.

• Book of Beasts: There are numerous books about Polymorphing into ancient beasts rummaging between bedroom walls and creepy buggers comforting themselves in forest dens. Most Polymorph spells recorded in history, old and new, have been collected in this handy Book of Beasts, and with some limitations, can transform you or a target to any creature desirable. 

• Librarian’s Cloak: The creator of this cloak was a studious, but recluse wizard that desired peace and quiet. He would often be studying in The Great Library and could not stand the noise of grumbling, old, bearded wizards. To his invention, he created the Librarian’s Cloak. It would make the wearer invisible, gifting him the ability to study unseen for hours. Unfortunately, the cloak is not soundproof. 

• Great Ashen Wand: The fusion of an ancient Oak tree and the ingenious augmentation of a magical orb by an ambitious wizard, resulted in the creation of an “unbeatable magic wand.” Or so, the story should’ve gone. The experiment was a failure, however, the wand still possesses a useful paralysis effect.
