After seeming like a real creeper at first meeting, this noble ended up being someone I really liked and felt empathy for!

I am a few days late. Gabel = Fork Wirt = someone in charge of a Tavern Orden = similar to a badge of honour

The dance animation was great

Heavenly Demon

I think the way nobility is shown really depends on the type of series you watch, they're really easy to make into villains in Shonen action series, but I can think of a lot of games and shojo series were they're the good guys, it's not quite the same thing obviously but Ouran Host Club is kind of an example of that given most of them are heirs to huge companies, Dragon Quest is another example but I won't spoil any of that. Stark just naturally makes these great connections with people, and the parallels between his situation with his own father and Orden with his two sons is great, I kind of hope we see him again one day.

Amazing scene!

One of the great things (and there's a lot of great things) in this series is how they show the budding relationship between Stark and Fern. In a lot of shows with romance you'll have tons of cliches (love at first sight, misunderstandings that last forever etc) but romance wasn't even hinted at when they first met (that was Fern giving Stark one of her disgusted looks heh). You get a ton of small scenes between them where they are learning about each other and slowly becoming closer as their relationship slowly develops over time. It's very well done and it isn't even the main focus of this series. Also, the dancing scene is another example of how a good anime adaptation does things. It's just a few panels in the manga, but the animators decided to go all out on it, same as they do with the fight scenes.

Where have I seen a nobleman who is eventually shown to be kindhearted, lost their son in battle to the demons, and was ultimately helped by Frierens crew? It seems very familiar. Still, beautiful and heartbreaking episode here.
