Batman feels sympathetic towards her because she is the opposite of him. Batman because obviously his parents died when he was young, he didn't have a childhood and had to grow up into adult hood quickly. Meanwhile for Babydoll, the way she is stuck as; she will never be able to experience adulthood in the way everyone else can.
