Pink haired guy on the navy ship was Who's Who from Kaido's crew. That flashback was from when Shanks stole the devil fruit from The W.G. RIP King Nefeltari, King of Alabasta and father of Vivi. It is alleged Sabo killed him, but I don't for a moment believe he did. I think Vivi's father learned or knew something The W.G. did not want him to have the insight on. Sabo is just a convient scape goat to put a bad rep on The Revolutionary Army.
