PLEASE, PLEASE REUPLOAD...

Prometheus

well I don't know if this will make you happy or not but hbo is adapting the books into a t.v show.

I've been itching to say this since you did the first half of this movie, but didn't want to spoil snapes plot twist: in his fight against McGonagal you see him hesitate when she steps up to the plate like he doesn't want to fight her, then you can see he redirects her attacks into knocking out the other two death eaters there before he flees, just a couple small touches hinting at his true allegiance.

Peter Milligan

No one was complaining. Criticism is not the same. If you think a civil discussion about things that some people think could have been better, where everyone explains their respective viewpoint, thereby expanding other people's horizons, is a bad thing, you need to work on yourself. No one was bashing the movie, and I'm pretty sure everyone here liked it. Some of the opinions here have even changed my own, I now think that Voldemort's death was actually handled well enough from a cinematic point of view, if not a thematic one. Especially since they changed the setting and execution of his duel with Harry. Rool of Cool prevails :D And the wand "cracking" is actually part of what I didn't like. It should never have happened in the first place. I feel like this part just relies on movie makers taking their audiences for fools, which is a common thing. You can disagree, that's fine, but I personally don't like to be treated as if I was stupid enough not to recognize obvious plot holes.

Aeco

I haven't seen the play but you can buy the book, although it's kept in screen play format so it's a bit weird reading but it is good.

Psychostalker

Books are always better than movies just enjoy it or don't watch it. Neither of those points really matters. You can chalk up harry breaking the wand to the damage done prior when voldemort took down the barrier. As for how he died either way there would be fear he'd come back whether there was a corpse or not. They really need to post on movies adapted from books telling people who read the book first not to watch the movie, cause all they do is complain.

Psychostalker

I second this. Fantastic Beasts will give you more history on what these older characters were about!!

Shayne S

Could you please post your full thoughts in a video after to take it all in later? I'm curious on what you thought about each character's story. Fun to watch you react!! :)

The reason the Elder Wand started to crack was because Draco disarmed Dumbledore and he mistakenly believed the one who both disarmed and killed Dumbledore was Snape. He not only pointlessly killed Snape, but failed to realize Draco was the actual owner and that Harry took said ownership for himself. Golye(Or was he Crabbe?) dying was fine with me since he actively tried to kill Ron, Hermione, and Harry. Draco did not want to kill Harry, he just wanted his wand back, even though he is unaware that it has already turned against him to serve Harry. RIP Lavender, she seemed so sweet and for her to die like that was terrible. At least Hermione avenged her death by sending Fenrir to his death via gravity. Snape was always Dumbledore's man, at least when he realized Volde was going after Harry's parents. He pleaded his heart out to Dumbledore to protect all of them, even James, whom he hated. He protected Harry at every turn, also Dumbledore was dying anyways, so Snape and Dumbledore plotted together to stage those events where Dumbledore died. He was also the one who sent the patronus that led Harry to The Sword of Gryffindor. Snape was a complicated man, but he was without a doubt one of the MVP's in the Second Great Wizarding War. Also with the prophecy it could have either been Neville or Harry as both were born on July. Fred, Nymphadora, and Remus's deaths hit hard too. Remus was also the last of the old new guard of Dumbledore's army. I consider him, James, Peter(before he betrayed them), and Sirius as the vanguard. The current one I'd say is Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville. Molly was such a badass there. My mom cheered LOUDLY in the theater when she killed Bellatrix. As Mat said, Harry's original wand was fixed with the Elder Wand and Harry then destroyed The Elder wand. Harry also did adopt Remus' son as his own. Harry and Dudley also become better friends and relatives. Dudley ended up being a decent man in the end.

DevilJynx

I'm probably remembering wrong. Thank you

David Rich

That would have been cool to see!

Spaz Boys Comedy

You should definitely take the Hogwarts Sorting Hat Quiz to see which house your in and the patronus quiz too to see what your patronus would be! Both are on the pottermore website that J.K Rowling created herself.

StormStar

To your first point, lets not forget Dumbledore admitted himself he had an unhealthy attraction to power and originally pursued the Hallows himself, I don't think he could have brought himself to do it, otherwise he would have, and probably destroyed the cloak and the resurrection stone just to be safe. It makes sense of his character not to break it. But to be honest I like the book version better, but it would have been too long and complicated to explain to a mainstream audience, although Harry could have used it to fix his own wand first before snapping it (I'll just quietly assume he did that off-camera XD)

StormStar

Harry actually named his first born son James Sirius Potter, the younger brother is Albus Severus. and their daughter is Lily Luna Potter

Some guy named Chris

I have to say Curtis, thank you, getting watch these with you was the closest I got to watching again for the first time! Also just some side notes, a lot of good guys died in the battle of hogwarts that the books expand upon: Fred: Killed while joking, he died with a smile on his face Lupin Snape Tonks: She was killed by Bellatrix (her aunt) she had just left hers and Lupin's new born son in the care of her mother to go help her husband fight, leaving him an orphan like Harry, who is their son's godfather and would go on to help raise him Lavender Brown: Ron's girlfriend in the Half-Blood Prince, she was the girl being... well eaten by Greyback the werewolf Collin Creevey: the kid with the camera from the second film who was stanning Harry, McGonagall sent him home because he was too young to fight, but he snuck back to help his friends The final battle ended quite differently in the books; Luna, Hermione and Ginny took on Bellatrix, Molly stepped in when Bellatrix almost killed Ginny. McGonagall, Slughorn and Kingsley duelled Voldemort until Harry stepped in. After the battle, McGonagall became headmistress of Hogwarts, Harry and Ron became Aurors (dark wizard catchers), Hermione became Minister for Magic, Neville became a professor at Hogwarts and so much more. So glad you watched these movies and if your looking to watch expanded potter stuff a funny one is the Comic Relief special Harry Potter and the Chamberpot of secrets, I think that would be up you alley!

StormStar

The girl the werewolf was feasting on was Ron's ex-girlfriend from movie 5, Lavender Brown. In the books Harry uses the elderwand to fix his old wand before destroying it.

V_VMat

"Danielle Radcliffe... apparently is terrible at catching things" That makes you wonder how many times did they have to shoot the scenes where Harry catches something then? 🤔😅

V_VMat

For the second one, I do agree that, in terms of story it is better in the book, where he drops dead and shows, at the end of the day, he's no different then any other man. However I have no issue with that change because, being honest, him falling over and not getting up just wouldn't be a satisfying end to the movie. The slow, pained disintegration sells that this is the end more then a collapse ever could have.

Harold Haddick

It was great to relive this journey with you. Sad that it's over, but all good things must end. I've always had a love/hate with the movies (there were a few things the books did better, as always with adaptations). But this time around I really enjoyed them start to finish. And I absolutely love how Snape's story is revealed after his death; he's portrayed as an antagonist/villain from the start, and everything he does seems to fall in line with that. But to then find out he was essentially playing the role of the villain to ultimately keep Harry safe out of his love for Lily is just so good. Definitely one of my favorite fictional characters, and Alan Rickman played him so well.

Dylan Carpenter

I really loved this series! Have you ever seen the Star Wars prequels? If not, that’s a great option for your next movie series! Glad you enjoyed this one.

Brian Dorchak

He does in fact drop the resurrection stone in the forest, though in the book he only drops it right before he fully revealed himself to Voldemort. "The Resurrection Stone slipped from between his numb fingers, and out of the corner of his eyes he saw his parents, Sirius, and Lupin vanish as he stepped forward into the firelight."

Burk314

Awesome reaction as always! You should check out the fantastic beasts movies next., there are some character's you'd recognize and I think you'd like them a lot

pellaeon

Thank YOU guys for adding SO much to these experiences for me!!

Spaz Boys Comedy

Well said!

Spaz Boys Comedy

Damn! We didn’t get to see that because Radcliffe’s got no hands?! That sucks!

Spaz Boys Comedy

I had not seen your comment yet when I posted, but in the books harry uses the wand to repair his own, doesn't snap it, then throws it over. Also, in the books Voldemort does just fall dead as a body . And harry depends Snape in front of the crowd and they duel right there in front of everyone.

David Rich

Some notes. I really love these movies, but in the books Harry uses the Elder wand to repair his own, a spell only that wand with the correct owner could do . They also hint that Harry's invisibility cloak is the original deathly hallow, he doesn't drop the resurrection stone in the book either. So he had all 3 making him master of death and able to come back. Thank you so much for watching these movies. They are some of my all time favorites and I really enjoyed experiencing your journey.

David Rich

Harry Potter was a big part of my childhood, I loved the films and books growing up, so it was fantastic revisiting them with you. Harry and Ginny actually have three children together, James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter and Lily Luna Potter, I think you can guess who they're named after, there's was a play called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child about their children's time at Hogwarts, I've never seen it, but I've heard mixed things, JK Rowling says it's canon though, I'll give you a few details from it, because I doubt you'll get to see, I think they stopped the play ages ago. Malfoy and his wife have a son named Scorpius Malfoy, him and Harry's son Albus become close friends, they're both in Slytherin. It turned out... Voldemort and Bellatrix had a daughter together before the battle of Hogwarts, you probably didn't realize but Bellatrix's actress was actually pregnant during filming for the last 2 films so they had to hide it, in canon that's probably why Bellatrix spent so much time in the Malfoy manor around that time, Draco's mother is Bellatrix's sister, so she probably felt safe there, no one knew about the baby, not even the Malfoys, so Draco was shocked when he found out later that he had a cousin who was Voldemort's daughter, him and Harry have to team up to stop her plan of brining Voldemort back.

When you think about it, Snape's life was so unlucky and tragic. He got rejected by the only woman he loved. He got bullied in school. He saw the woman he loved lying dead. He had to play double agent so he would stay alive. And then after all that he got killed due to Voldemort's misunderstanding about the wands ownership. What a tragic man's life. He lived alone and died alone. Seeing him cry in his last moments before he died hit me so hard. You can't always have what you want in your life, because life is indeed... unfair!

Petar Nikolić

well now that harry potter is done, i def would love to see more daniel radcliffe movies on the channel, his movie choices are a bit uh... unhinged lmaoo. Guns akimbo i think is my favorite

Nate D.

ok, so before I see the reaction I'm going to let you know about a deleted scene, I'll send you a link to the scene as well, honestly think it was a terrible decision to cut it out, right after Neville gives his speech and Harry comes back, Draco switches sides and joins Harry, he throws his own wand to Harry so that he'd be able to fight Voldemort, fully joining the good guys side, that's why he's at platform 9 and 3/4's during the timeskip with his wife and son instead of rotting in Azkaban. The reason they cut it out... was... well, Danielle Radcliffe... apparently is terrible at catching things, so he kept dropping the wand, so... they cut it out entirely, kind of making a continuity error, because, well how did Harry get Draco's wand for the final fight? Draco was completely conflicted on who's side he was on, so when everyone is choosing sides, and Draco goes to his parents and the Death Eaters, if literally anyone from Hogwarts reached out to him and asked him to stay, he would have, that's why Harry coming back was the push he needed.

I loved seeing Neville come through... And Mama Weasley, as well!... I'm still not sure on which movie is next.

Spaz Boys Comedy

Snape was amazing!!

Spaz Boys Comedy

Snape was a real one, now all the kinda off things he did really became clearer. Nevill was a real one too, can't forget my boy, they really did great with this finale. So now that you've gone through the whole series, what's next on our cinema journey?

Lewd Angel

Except that Voldemort turned into an incorporeal being the first time he was defeated as well, so that wouldn't be very convincing. And we know magic cannot bring back the dead. An inferius of Voldemort would just be an ugly zombie. :D

Aeco

Idk i kinda disagree with that second one, seeing someone disintegrate into dust is a far more convincing showcase of mortality than just dropping dead. A corpse reminds you more of a regular person yes, but a corpse can also get back up and walk again in a world of magic, there ain't much to bring back from dust.

Lewd Angel

As good as it is, there are actually 2 changes in the movie I really didn't like. The first is that Harry just somehow snapped the Elder Wand in half. If that were possible, Dumbledore would have done it ages ago to prevent anyone (such as Voldemort) from obtaining its power. He never relied on it that much and was drawn to the Stone of Resurrection as the only one of the Hallows. The rest didn't interest him that much. And he wouldn't have had to come up with such an elaborate plan to depower the wand (though I don't remember if that was even included in the movie), which failed in the end anyway. But that's something a casual viewer could pick up as well - the question of "If you can just break it, why didn't Dumbledore do so?" The second is Voldemort turning into dust. Had that actually happened, the cult and myths surrounding him would have persisted, perhaps for a long time. It wouldn't really have been any different from the first time he was "killed" by Harry as a baby. People would just wonder when he will eventually come back and keep all the fear of him alive. The fact that he, in the end, was just a corpse like any other is what took away all his power. People could see his dead body and realize that, after all is said and done, Voldemort was just a human. Intelligent, magically talented, and innately cruel perhaps, but still just a dude. And a dead dude, no less. Other than that though, an incredibly well-conceived adaptation for the most part :)

Aeco

Also I can't forget about Snape, he was the real MVP in all of this 🙌

Brother E

Seeing all Harry and the others grown up on Platform 9 3/4 watching their kids head to Hogwarts always hits my feels. I always think back to when Harry first discovered it and the magic in that world. Now it all gets tied up together. An amazing journey! You need to visit the Harry Potter world in Universal and in London.

Brother E

I'm so happy
