If you look at animation from season one to now you can see a drastic improvement. If I am not mistaken George would just write a blank check from his own personal wealth to the show. It was his project he felt he owed his fans a good show after the movies bombed. In the end the show is a absolute success and it made money if I recall

Also The whole thing with the queen made me roll my eyes. She deserved worse and I barely paid attention to her final words.
