There are historically Generals much like Krell who just throw bodies at the problem, many in the Soviet Union during WW2 did this fighting the Nazis. Rule of thumb for an assaulting force is they want to have a 3 to 1 body count against the defenders, krell seems to not know this as he splits his forces up.
