This was a good story. How do you handle an outbreak before the age of sterile medicine? One could argue cow pox would build antibodies similar to small pox and give a measure of immunity. Cow pox isn't dangerous to humans. Maybe they should've burned sage to ward off evil spirits too. I dunno...
