download: snack machine change - early access
Added 2023-12-12 02:58:36 +0000 UTCthis game has actually been done for a while since i made it for a short game collection that hasn't come out yet... but i've decided to release it ahead of the short game collection release because the game was made in unity & i want to stop using unity by 2024.
so here is snack machine change!
download codes have been sent out & i plan on releasing the full game later this week.
this time the game is only in english since the collection is also planned to be in english. from what i hear, the short game collection should be coming out next year, but i'll have more info for you when i actually know more myself!

Out of curiosity, I tried running the game in a Windows 11 VM and was able to reliably reproduce the issue. Easiest way to reproduce it is to press enter immediately after "Start". Really bizarre that Enter does something different to Space and Left Click. Planting seeds in someone else's fenced garden is a great way of describing it. I guess open source stuff is like a public garden? π€

2023-12-12 14:24:00 +0000 UTCthank you for playing & also thanks for noting the Linux thing! i'm going to look into it but i think it might just be a Naninovel unity quirk π€ that's my feeling on the engines too - i don't really want to plant seeds in somebody else's fenced garden, so open source for me right now feels like a safer bet.

I'm an only child, but I can so easily imagine adopting this attitude at a young age if I had a sibling. I really liked how the conversations with strangers helped Boo see things from another angle. They might even be things he already knows, but it helps to have them said out loud. The snake was my favourite character, haha. Grouchy personality combined with a fondness for sweetsβwhat's not to love? (the music is great too. i'm not usually into music much, but I always love tracks from you or shidzumi) I encountered a minor issue while playing. On Linux, hitting Enter to proceed doesn't seem to work properly in some cases. It replays the previous line/animation. Space works fine, though. Whether it's Ren'Py, Godot or whatever else, I hope whatever engine you're using now treats you well. The nice thing about those engines is they're open source so they can't do what Unity did, and certainly not retroactively.
