Muscular was Midoriya's toughest test in season 3 and barnone one of his hardest battles. Yet here he barely even tried and managed to take him down a second time. I do feel for Izuku's mother, I cannot imagine the stress and anxiety she has to cope with, especially with the news constantly getting worse and worse. Still he's got powerful people looking out for him like Hawks, Jeanist, Endeavor, Aizawa, Nezu, etc. All Might is there too of course, but there is next to nothing he can do in terms of fighting AFO and The League. I really like the angle of the top 3 heroes, All Might, and Izuku going more or less rogue aka Batman style. Then again there is no one who could stop them anyways since the beauracracy is broken and civil unrest is everywhere. I do think Gran Torino is correct in his advice, Shiguraki is a victim, but he's broken in a way that cannot be mended. AFO has poisened his mind and warped him into a monster. Its tragic, but it will be necessary as he's as much a danger to those around him as he is to himself. AFO is one of the best shounen antagonists, because he's fun to hate and he feels intimidating. On top of that it's hard not to want him to lose and/or die.

2023-07-03 23:25:55 +0000 UTCThe gauntlets he has now are VERY interesting, now I don't know if you've watched any of the movies Curtis since reacting to movies has been something you haven't done much until recently but the red gauntlets that he wears on his arms now, the ones he says All Might got from America are actually a support item that was prominent in the first movie where Midoriya met the daughter of All Might's former partner from the states. In the movie this support item allowed Midoriya to use One for All without breaking his arms. So basically, this confirms that A. That niece is still helping Midoriya and B. it shows that that movie is undoubtably canon, which is something I was curious about since other anime have issues sliding their own movies into canon like the original DBZ movies. Now I'm sure you figured it out from the flashback in this episode, but I'll say it anyway, the earthquake guy and the cute blonde are not new characters, their old characters from the arc where Midoriya got his provisional license. On the topic of the civilians, I can somewhat understand what their deal is. When the going got tough many of the heroes got overwhelmed by the decaying situation and quit however this is all a result of being used to times of peace. They are too used to being protected by Heroes and now that they have given up on that safety net, they have become quite unreasonable and pessimistic. They now cause problems for the Heroes that didn't run away and because of this they act very unfairly to the people who are actually trying to help them. Trust me this issue (as in problem with the people and not a problem with the writing) will become more prominent later in this arc and it's gonna be more difficult to watch as we progress.

2023-07-03 14:32:30 +0000 UTCIzuku went from nearly being killed by muscular back in season 3 to easily defeating him now, truly awesome development but man that scene with Izuku and his mom at the end nearly made me cry when I first watched it. The green haired kid that no one believed in because he had no power is now on his own ready to become the next symbol of peace. Or green haired cinnamon roll is growing up and we've been watching him doing it

2023-07-03 12:43:32 +0000 UTCThe author is a big fan of Spider Man, so he basically gave Deku his abilities with his blackwhip being used to swing around and bind people like webs and his new danger sense quirk is basically the spidey sense. Granted, quite a few ideas from western comics make their way into this series.
