We lost so many great Heroes during the warβs first battle. Momo lost two mentors Midnight and Majestic. Crust who went out like an absolute G saving Eraser. We also lost Native who was the hero Stain tried to kill, but was saved by Deku Todoroki and Ida. That one sucked because of how hard those three fought to save him and then for him just to die later anyway. We also lost heroβs that sounded interesting like Funk Man, he sounded like he probably had a fun quirk. My Hero has certainly had a number of moments that have made me well up inside

This episode is the end of Part 1 of the War Arc and essentially is the catalyst for Hero society becoming crippled. Shigaraki returns more powerful than ever and destroys a city and his direct actions leads to several other cities getting tramped by the Giant Villain. Dabi reveals himself as Toya and reveals Endeavors crooked marriage and horrid past behavior with his family while also revealing the "murder" of twice by the hands of a hero.
He essentially "cancels" Endeavor and while several seasons ago that might have been a preferable outcome, here in the latest season Endeavor has been on the hard road of redemption and is now the number one hero who was just now being accepted as the number one. This isn't a good outcome as it now reflects badly on the rest of hero society for selecting him as their number one.
Now we have the aftermath of the battle where heroes and emergency personal are struggling to save as many people as they can, but the problem is there are too many injured and fear and despair begin to take hold of everyone. What's worse as we saw here, heroes have begun losing hope and quitting their jobs as heroes. Honestly this might be what Stain was hoping for if it didn't involve innocent people getting killed. Despite the fact many heroes died during the battle trying to protect people you can see from the last couple clips in the episode that civilians are starting to turn against the heroes too.
To make matters worse Shigaraki isn't actually out of the fight or rather All For One isn't done yet and actually plans to get his real body so the chaos isn't done yet, one might think after all the destruction we would get our cooling off point here but no we're gonna see All For One busting himself out before finally getting a break from the action.
Luckily all of this will start of an interesting Character arc for Ururaka but I'll wait until the end of the season to really talk about that. So yeah, things are shit but we can only hope that the surviving heroes get a handle on the situation soon.

I honestly felt really bad whenever Midnight would appear and you'd just light up, because I knew what would happen to her! The second half of this episode was just so brutal. Everything just feels so bleak.

The heroes did not win nor did The League; this was All For One's victory.
Most of The League and Paranormal Liberation Front were arrested and AFO has made it clear that he only values people as pawns and pieces; once their use is fulfilled, he has no problems leaving them to be taken or killed.
Sentiment towards heroes is at its absolute worst, which is going to make things even more difficult for the heroes remaining. On top of that, you got heroes like that one guy who quit after the horrors of what happened were just too much to take in all at once. I can't even be mad at him, because I wouldn't know how to process all of that either.
AND ON TOP OF THAT, the heroes' ranks have been thinned. Midnight, Crust, and Majestic are dead among dozens of others and many of the top heroes were badly wounded in the fight. Couple that with trust in the Hero led society being crippled, the surivors have their work cut out for them.
Edit: Once I got to this episode was about the time you got to the one where Midnight was badly injured by Mr. Compress. There were a group of villains that found her and ended up finishing her off. Her death stings. :(

My face every time you said something about how nothing better happen to Midnight π¬
Yeah, knew you wouldnβt like that. I know they wanted to have an impactful death, but it still twists inside me too.

Yea, in all the previous episodes where you were going on about how you loved Midnight I was like "I got some bad news for you buddy. Also, a lot of the heroes that went out didn't get some climactic showdown or anything, they were just got annihilated by Shiggy's and Giganto's collective rampage. The one with the most meaningful death was probably Crust as he saved Eraserhead who was key to keeping Shiggy in check, but I think it was meant to be portrayed as more mass casualties in war rather than individual heroic sacrifices.

No this is the moment where we realize things were really serious lad. I mean we already know the seriousness of the situation but this is where it's cemented itself with the death of midnight. The moment she died in the manga was the moment I was like "oh man Curtid is not going to like this at all." Horikoshi, the author, men business when he did this. Open a brand new world lad in the my hero academia world. These kids just really watch the dangers of being an actual pro Hero. You thought the war was bad lad? The aftermath is worse. All the shows is out in net Endeavor is so the number one hero. His first major conflict and look at what it led to. But whatever enough of that trash. Get ready left for one of my favorite parks in all of my hero academia next.
