Bellow are a list of supplements, peptides and modalities that I like for lung health. While this is not medical advice, there is some good evidence for some of these being able to treat and potentially manage COPD. All of the listed bellow are for education purposes, and is simply information elucidating some of the clinical and historic use of particular compounds for various lung pathologist. You can skip to the bottom for the full list if you don’t want to read the description for each
I like using bio-regulators a few times a year and hydrogen inhilation daily to protect my lungs from the environment pollutants I come in contact with daily
1. Peptide bio-regulators (Chonluten and bronchogen)
Peptide bioregulators are short chain peptides that have been studied for their potential to regulate various biological processes in the body. They are often researched for their role in promoting the repair and regeneration of specific tissues or organs. Chonluten and Brochogen are two bioregulators for the respiratory system
The mechanism of action for Chonluten/bronch, like other peptide bioregulators, is that it may act by binding to specific DNA sequences or by interacting with receptors on the cell surface influencing gene expression or cellular processes. This may lead to the functional normalization of protein synthesis within the cells of the lungs, potentially aiding in the repair and regeneration of lung tissue.
Some studies in humans and animal models have shown the that Chonluten and bronchogen work both as a preventative and acute care treatment for patients with lung disorders, bronchitis and chronic respiratory infections. It’s believed that these bio-regulators stimulates the repair of the mucosal barrier and endothelial components of lung tissue. They have been shown to be anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic (scar tissue) and anti-carcinogenic (cancer) in the bronchials.
How to use bio-regulators?
In Russia, bio-regulators are best used as subcutaneous injections, 1-5mg daily for 20-30 days. However In the US, peptide bio-regulators are ‘not for human consumption’. How one chooses to use bio-regulators is up to them and their nutritional informed physician. Bio-regulators can also be taken in capsule form. Research grade peptide form CabLabs and Peptide Science is where I choose to get my bio-regulators. For capsules, I like the source bellow. These are best taken 2-4 capsules daily, for 15-30 days.

2. GHK
GHK benefits the lungs in various ways, and has been studied for acute lung injury and pulmonary fibrosis.
In acute lung injury, GHK has shown protective effects by reducing ROS, increasing superoxide dismutase, and decreasing the production of inflammatory cytokines. In pulmonary fibrosis (scarring of the lungs, GHK has protective effects in bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis by acting through anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory pathways. It inhibits inflammatory and fibrotic pathological changes, reduces levels of inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and IL-6, and decreases collagen deposition in the lungs. The over production of collagen is what causes scar tissue. By modulating collagen deposition, GHK helps repair the lungs, therefore inhibiting the need to lay down additional scar tissue as a compensatory mechanism for that induced tissue damage.
How is GHK used?
GHK is often used as a subcutaneous injection, 2.5mg twice daily for 30-60 days. GHK has also been nebulized at 1-2mg daily
Sourcing — peptide science and CanLabs
KPV peptide
KPV is anther great peptide for lung health. It works very similar to GHK as an anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic (scar tissue) compound. It also has similar healing properties as BPC.
Sourcing: CanLabs, peptide science, or intergrarive peptide (for capsules)
Dosing: 500mcg daily as sub Q injections or as capsules.
Molecular hydrogen inhilation
Molecular hydrogen acts as a potent antioxidant by selectively neutralizing harmful free radicals such as hydroxyl radicals and peroxynitrite. By reducing oxidative stress, H2 inhalation can help protect lung cells from damage and inflammation. Some studies have suggested that molecular hydrogen may have anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the growth and proliferation of cancer cells in the lungs. Molecular hydrogen has been shown to have protective effects in various models of lung injury and damage, including acute respiratory distress syndrome and pulmonary fibrosis. H2 inhalation can help alleviate inflammation, reduce oxidative stress, and promote tissue repair in damaged lungs. Molecular hydro the inhilation is going to be more effective for this since the hydrogen molecule is able to come into direct contact with damage and inflamed lung tissue. Because hydrogen is a very small molecule, it’s able to readily diffuse into those tissues where’s its able to augment tissue repair and prevent oxidative stress
Sourcing for a machine: hydrogen4health.com
A hydrogen inhilation device isn’t cheap, but hydrogen4health offers a variety of different devices based on your budget. For someone struggling with a chronic disease or lung issue, this is an investment well worth every penny. I have their HX900 model and regularly inhale for anywhere between 1-5 hours a day while working, reading, relaxing or walking on my treadmill. It’s very easy to accumulate a lot of time with it daily, and there is no risk of overdosing with hydrogen. It’s 100% safe.
Nebulized methylene blue
During the COVID pandemic, a few human studies were conducted using nebulized methylene blue for treating COVID itself as well as the lung complications and pathologies from the virus. Methylene blue is a powerful antioxidant and anti-microbial. It has similar protective effects on the lungs as some of the compounds above, but also has the direct ability to kill pathogens residing in the nasal cavity and lungs itself. Nebulzied methylene blue can also help to clear mold spores, staff, and opportunistic fungi like Candida that often colonize the upper and lower respiratory system. It’s also great for nasal congestion and can be used as needed. Note that MB is heavily contraindicated with SSRI’s, 5HTP, high doses of Typtophan and other supplements that increase serotonin.
Dosing: in studies , .5-1 mg of MB was used. MB can contain a lot of heavy metals, so it important to get it from a good source. I like Compass Labratories.
Epicore (for asthma)
Epicore is an immunomodulatory ‘postbiotic’ containing dried, cell wall saccryomyces. This is not the same as the alive version of saccromyces. In trials, epicore reduced respiratory distress in adults and children with asthma and chronic pulmonary diseases. Another paper found that EpiCor “significantly reduced the severity and duration of nasal congestion in those with season allergies”. Epicore works predominantly by balancing the immune system and modulating the lung health via the gut-lung axis.
Dosing: 500mg one daily. Best taken with spore probiotic since it also acts as a prebiotic. You can use any brand of Epicore still it’s a trademarked ingridient.
