A knockout probiotic for IBS symptoms

IBS affects millions worldwide, and while the quest for effective management continues, new recent research shines a probiotic called bfidobacterium longum 35624. You might be familiar with bfidobacterium longum 1714 whicu I posted about previously for stress (social anxiety post) and anxiety. Well, the 35624 is another bfido strain that exerts beneficial effects on common IBS symptoms. What's pretty cool to note here is that both of these bacteria are the exact same species, but extert entirely different effects even though they only differ slightly in their characteristics. This highlights the powerful specificity that probiotics can have on specific areas of our health and well being.

Here’s the scoop on recent research

B longum 35624 has been under the scientific spotlight, and studies suggest it could be a game-changer for those battling IBS symptoms. This particular strain is not just any probiotic though; it's been specifically researched for its potential to balance gut flora and provide relief from the abdominal discomfort, bloating, and irregularity associated with IBS.

It has a few proposed mechanisms of

action.

1. Enhancing the gut barrier: It strengthens the intestinal wall, which can help keep unwanted substances from triggering inflammation in the Gl

2. Modulates the immune response: This strain helps to regulate the body's immune response, which can be overactive in IBS, leading to inflammation. Many symptoms of IBS stem from the immune system attacking foods, causing auto-immune reacts in the gut. This is where food sensitivities develop. Your gut bacteria essentially educate immune cells in the gut associated lymphoid tissues. immune cells learn to differentiate between pathogens and beneficial or benign antigen you get from diet and commensal bacteria. This is a big component of why a lot of people reactive negatively to certain foods when they're lacking keystone bacteria and good diversity in the gut. Certain specifies of bifido bacteria also promote and 'train' the development of regulatory T cells which kinda promote immune tolerance.

3. Influencing the gut-brain axis: B longum may help manage how the gut communicates with the brain, which can affect gut motility and sensitivity. Individuals with gastritis develop IBS as a result of of poor vagal tone and communication from the gut up to the brain, and from the brain back down to the gut. This strain also reduces neurological inflammation.

This can be an amazing strain to combine with things like the fungal protocol since many people with yeast infections also have IBS

The brand I recommend is Zenbiole dual. I love this because it also has the strain I wrote about previously for social anxiety and stress. If you’re also taking the Just Thrive probiotic, be sure to space these out ahout 6-8 hours apart since they can compete with each other.

Even if you don’t have severe IBS, I still think this is a great strain for tackling common digestive complaints. I would personally get on a good general probiotic like the Just Thrive first (which you can find in the bio with a discount code) but specific strains can be useful as well if you have extra money to spend and or need additional support.

I’m really exited about a lot of the new research coming out in the gut micrbiome, as well as specific (selective) probiotic strains for tackling common issues people deal with. Aside from the research itself, I’ve had amazing success recommending some of these specific strains to clients that have anxiety and digestive issues (IBS and anxiety usually go hand in hand). I had one client in particular who had debilitating IBS (7-8 bowl movements a day, extreme cramping and pain, couldn’t leave the house) who is 90% better now after just a month on this strain. Truly amazing.
