This interview with Super Metroid and “Kaeru no tame ni kane wa naru” programmer Yasuhiko Fujii originally appeared in game shokunin volume 1. The first part of the interview looks back at Fujii’s programming and “hacking” origins, while the latter half covers his work at Intelligent Systems and includes design insights into Super Metroid and Kaeru.
