This detailed article (generously donated to shmuplations by sharc) is excerpted from a lengthy biography written in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Sun Denshi and originally published in The Mid-Japan Economist Journal in 2011.
While it’s primarily focused on detailing the growth and success of the business under the stewardship of founder Masami Maeda, it also outlines many of Sun Denshi and Sunsoft’s early accomplishments in the realms of videogame hardware and software and the methods by which they navigated the challenges of various facets of the industry—including, apparently, fast-talkin, big-spendin’ Yankee employees.
