This lengthy interview with key members of the Namco Tales Studio development team first appeared in the Tales of Magazine in 2008. Overall, the theme of this interview can probably be summed up in one word: “fanservice.” After presenting a top-down view of the Tales development process, there are some interesting comments about rpg design and what qualities the developers believe defines a Tales game.
