Thief In The Mind - Editing Banter

Story: Isn’t it so nice to just let your body go, and let it… surrender… to the music. To feel the rhythm of the music moving through your body. Every drum beat, every cord, every part of the melody. Sliding into your body. It feels so good to dance. Feel the pulse of the other person, though your own skin. To feel their body moving with yours. It’s almost like you can simply… focus on your body.  On the movements of your body, as you sway, and slide.  As your body glides along the floor. All the many movements, the muscles moving all in unison. Such a complex feat, and yet so easy to do, the less you think about it, the easier it becomes.  You can simply watch your body sway, observe it as it moves with me. No need to think, no need to question, just easy to let go, and get lost in the music. Lost in the dance.  You don’t get to let go very often miss… So many things on your mind. But right now, nothing matters. Nothing needs to be dealt with. The music, and your body… will take care of everything. You can simply let go. Letting every beat. Every cord, every melody, take you deeper… and deeper… into the dance now miss.  Just let everything go. Let your body run on autopilot.  Your mind, your tired, tired mind, can simply… go to sleep miss. Asleep on your feet. Dancing to the music as it takes you deeper… and deeper. All the way down. Where you can hear nothing but the music… and my voice.  Where you are aware of only the dance. Only the dance now miss…. Only the dance. 

SG (Editor): I think this might have dropped me a little bit

Story: Watching a person get hypnotized is an odd experience, it’s kinda like what you see in the movies but also totally different.

SG: I would say that's an accurate description, actually.

Story: As I sat in my chair I simply pointed to the ground in front of me; and without stopping her long winded speech about how I was going to pay for what I had done, and that she was going to see me in prison, she gracefully slid to her knees in front of me. It was almost weird watching her post hypnotic suggestions working on her mind. Here she was directly in front of me, on her knees, handcuffed, and still berating me. Still believing she had the upper hand even though she knew she was hypnotized. 

SG: That is both button pushing and kind of hilarious.

Story: “You see Officer, everyone can be hypnotized. The men in the fight, the girl behind the bar, even you. People can just simply, enter a trance, very easily without even realizing it now. Humans are designed, on every level, to just, focus, on what they are doing now, and as they do that, they can simply begin to lose track of things around them. Words and actions of others just seem to fade away now. And soon you start to enter a place where you can hear my words, but everything else just seems to fade away. There is no reason to pay attention to anything else, just my words miss.  Just focus on my words. After all the answers you seek, the answers to all of your questions are in my words now. You can see that can’t you… Officer Cartwright?”

SG: Sometime I will get through one of these without feeling like I'm zoning out, myself. Today was not that day…

Story: “This is very important to you, isn’t it miss, it’s a part of you. It represents part of who you are, but also a part of what you believe in. Like yourself this badge is strong, and beautiful. You can see how the light reflects off of it, how the solid straight lines all stand out in the sun. Like you stand out among a crowd. You can see the design, a shield, shows your strength, your willingness to protect others. And at the center,  the center of both is the strength, the structure which means so much to you, and your group. And it’s that point that I want you to simply focus on now miss. Just focus on the center of the structure, the center of yourself, the heart of yourself. Feel it beating, one after another,  and just let it carry you away. Beat, by beat,  beat, beat, beat… sleep.”

SG: that definitely dropped me for a minute..
