Updates and some Important News

Hey everyone,

Still at work on the next set of stories to release! Been a bit stressed the last week or so about whether Congress was going to send out another round of stimulus checks to Americans, but thankfully that came through, which is a massive relief. 

I want to, AGAIN, thank everyone who has contributed in some way to helping me close the financial funding gap that I was facing for December and January. There are too many of you to name! I've picked up a few new commissions (some of them tentative, some of them set in stone) and I should be good to go in into the New Year! That's a huge relief, and it makes it much easier for me to focus on the writing instead of sitting in front of my computer staring at my bank account balance and chewing on my nails while I try to figure out whether I really need to wash my hair next month instead of buying an extra pack of lunchmeat to eat. : ) 

There's a bunch of new faces among us! I would like to formally welcome everyone. I'd also like to encourage everyone here, both new Patrons and old, to respond to the reader survey that I put out at the beginning of the month, as a way to help me get to understand who is reading my stories and why they're into them. I'll be releasing some more surveys like this in the future, and will be replacing the old Q/A thing that I used to regularly do with them on occasion (the Q/As sort of petered out, everyone seemed to run out of questions to ask me, so I will do those less often going forward.) 

There is one other BIG, IMPORTANT thing that I want to draw everyone's attention to, though. I know it's the end of 2020 and this year has been an exhausting hell, but the US Congress is now considering a new bill, SISEA, which would effectively ban all NSFW content across the internet (except for a handful of especially designated 'porn sites') and drive independent content creators of all stripes (yes, INCLUDING artists and illustrators and writers like me) out of business. The bill proposes an incredibly complex and byzantine system of content moderation regulations that all content platforms going forward would have to follow, with draconian punishments for those who fail to be vigilant. No platform that isn't exclusively geared towards porn (so: Twitter, Tumblr, DeviantArt, Reddit, even Patreon) will be willing to even ATTEMPT to comply with these regulations, and will instead be forced to just ban NSFW content outright, and even porn-specific sites will be banned from allowing any form of image or video content to be DOWNLOADED, which will just kill off any independent creators who are left. 

In order to prevent the internet being completely scrubbed of all NSFW content not produced by enormous porn companies (which would basically mean the end of gender transformation fetish content entirely) I would like to encourage all of my American/US-based readers and patrons and followers to please contact your Senators and Congress people at this time and tell them to oppose the bill. In your message I would suggest focusing on the fact that you oppose this bill due to the chilling effect it will have on platforms' willingness to allow ANY FORM of NSFW content going forward, and on the unintentional effect it will have in curtailing NSFW-related free speech by individuals (sexting will officially be a thing of the past) as well as content creators who depend on Social Media platforms like Twitter, DeviantArt, and Patreon in order to survive.
