Long version:
This past week has been one of the most transformative of my life. I apologize if I neglected your DMs for a few days. Unfortunately, Joy has passed away. I knew she was old and sick (cancer), but I did not expect my sweet little dog to deteriorate as quickly as she did. Last week was a whirlwind of caring for her fragile body and making some of the toughest decisions of my life.
Joy was special because she was my childhood dog, and when I grew up and moved out on my own, she came with me. I rescued her from a life in a cage and she never left my side for 15 years. That's over half of my life! While I knew this time would eventually come, I didn't expect to be this devastated over the little things in my life that are now missing. No longer will I hear the pitter patter of her little paws around the house, or in our videos. I miss feeling her weight against me at night. I miss her waiting at the door for me, always ecstatic to see me. Her unconditional love meant more to me than I even knew.
Though sad, I can rest easy knowing that I gave her the best life I could. A life with no cages or chains. She exceeded her breed's life expectancy. She was always so happy.
This was also the week that I officially left my full-time job. I am taking some gap time to focus on my health and on you. One way I'd like to do that is by offering custom videos!
