2024-02-23 23:30:27 +0000 UTCone of the commenters on the twitch stream mentioned that the korean word for part time job sounds like the german word for work and it's because it is! the korean word is alba 알바 which is a contraction/acronym of areubaiteu 아르바이트 which is definitely from the german word arbeit. there's a lot of loan words in korean from other languages, not just english. the word for bread, bbang 빵 comes from the french word pain, for example.
