Elliot, this is an uncomfortable story with a controversial relationship at its core. Kubrick had to up Lolita’s age for the film. Even I, a devout Kubrick fan, couldn’t bring myself to see it for years. I can empathize with anyone who avoids it.

2021-12-14 17:53:57 +0000 UTCThis would be an excellent reason to finally get around to watching the film. A friend of mine was never able to bring herself to watch this movie, not for the regular reasons but because she loved James Mason and didn't want to see him in such a role.
