What an incredible and exciting and terrifying ride it has been. The season 2 finale is finally here. Cannot WAIT for Season 3!

I'm sorry, I'm late for the party... :)
Just a few notes of things I found interesting to think about:
The show drops obvious references to T***p, but with Victoria Neuman they are also taking the mickey out of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) the young up and comer of the Democrats.
And THAT'S the coup from the inside! Susan Raynor uttered this line, when she realized Vought's plot, before her head popped. And the audacity, that in this episode Neuman HERSELF is calling the head popping attack verbatim a coup from the inside, when she was the one doing it! Combined with Stan Edgar's comment about Stormfront being very good at making people angry, the plan to control both sides of the political aisle to make Vought untouchable is nicely underway. The future will be interesting.
Also her name: Victoria Neuman. Victoria is Latin for victory and neu is German (!) for new. So, you can take her name and her character to mean "Victory for the New (Hu)Man" meaning she will grant triumph to Vought and their Supes over the common people. Oh dear!
Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young" plays in the episode which Becca dies in. You can argue, that on The Boys' side, she was the only "untainted" one, meaning she never hurt or killed anyone, just wanted to protect her son. v.v
Homelander being pushed to more character development nicely underlined by subtle elements of storytelling: 1. The betrayal of Vought concerning his son hit him VERY deep. So after "interrogating" the members of the retrieval squad, you see Homelander walk out of the cabin splattered with their blood. You can only imagine what he did to them, when in contrast every time you saw him rampaging and massacring his way to loads of terrorists and other people, there always was little to no blood anywhere on him, portraying him as squeaky clean despite his megalomania.
2. When Maeve threatened to reveal the truth about the plane crash, there was a zoom-in on his eyes while an imaginary crowd chanted his name. During this zoom-in there was a certain high-pitched ringing sound. I think it's the same that Hughie always heard, when he had visions of Robin and was mentally strained. And to further underline this: There were 2 scenes of a (near) mental breakdown, 1 with Hughie trashing his room, the other with Homelander in a corridor after seeing himself being memed and criticized by the people whose love he needs. There was a certain piece of dissonant music playing over the scenes, that also played in the finale in this zoom-in.
3. So Homelander is getting closer and closer to an actual breakdown. The messages "I don't need anyone" and "I can do whatever I want" keep piling up, especially right after scenes, where he didn't get what he wanted and couldn't do what he wanted, because the people he needs would turn their backs on him. Will he snap soon? What's gonna happen then? Will Ryan be ready?
Have a great time everyone. :)

Her power seems to be just blowing up people’s heads from what I can see. She was in the courtroom where everyone’s heads were exploding

What a finale to rewatch before work at 8 am, lol. One of best finales to a tv show. Great reactions as well from you seeing Stormfront get it. Such a great actress playing such a despisable character. I understand your stand on Invincible, I am one of those who suggested it, but I totally get your point of view and agree on it. Should you decide to watch it, this is what I suggest. Check episode 1, if you can stomach the last 10 minutes, you are pretty much good to go ( except maybe episode 8 which is batshit insane). 1 and 8 have the most disturbing stuff ( in my opinion and as far as I can remember, so don't quote me..). Should you skip it, i'll personnaly still be here to watch whatever you choose instead ! Have a great weekend Kazzy !!

I've really enjoyed your reactions to this whole series, here's a bunch of my thoughts on one of my favourite shows of all time: - They do a great job lampooning scientology again with A Train saying "I didn't laugh about the space microbes" which is a pretty close pisstake of what they tell high level scientologists once they've reached a certain level - it's tragic how at the end our heroes are all in or heading for relationships except Butcher - that final Homelander scene was originally filmed for the first season but was cut and then they figured it would be perfect for season 2 - the moment when they say "Vought could take a shit in 5th avenue" is an obvious callback to real world T***p saying he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and still get elected. Looking forward to Dr Strangelove :)

As good as it gets.
I love that Stormfront really, REALLY got hers. What a great performance from Aya Cash, who is anything BUT a Nazi.
It was Victoria who did the head pops. If you rewatch the courtroom scene, you see she looks at each person and then their heads go. So it seems like a line-of-sight power.
Besides all the wonderful love between Frenchie and Kimiko, Marvin and his daughter, and of course Annie and Hughie, I laughed so hard that the action figure Homelander had Ryan try to toast with his eyes was a Deep figure. No respect at all. Face it, if Deep ever gets anything good in his life this show is over! He's the series punching bag!
I don't think they've had a chance to begin production on the next season, due to COVID, but hopefully, it will start soon if it hasn't already.
I can't wait to see what Soldier Boy has in store for us!
