Breaking Flaky Carabiners that have been in a cave only 10 years!

Hunter Campbell (https://www.instagram.com/camp_316/) sent me a bunch of corroded carabiners, quickdraws and hangers from a cave that he and Kyle (thumbnail), Aaron Moses, Amy Skrowronski, and Dave Smallwood projected.    After only 10 years in a cave, the carabiners look like croissants, the hangers are groovy and the dogbones look ok but broke way lower from the liquid sandpaper (silica in mud).

➜➜➜RESULTS = Barley Good Enough ►1st Quickdraw (22kN MBS) - Biner broke at 9.72kN, dog bone broke at 11.68kN and then the other biner broke at 12.25kN ►2nd Quickdraw (22kN MBS) - Biner broke at 9.6kN, dog bone broke at 11.75kN and the other biner broke at 15.39kN ►3rd Quickdraw (22kN MBS) - Biner broke at 6.79kN, other biner broke at 15.8kN, then dogbone broke at 15.14kN ►4th Quickdraw (22kN MBS) - Biner broke at 10.35kN, other biner broke at 11.34kN, then dogbone broke at 15.58kN ►3 Kong Oval Carabiners (22kN MBS) - 16.9kN and 12.77kN and 8.98kN ►2 Black Diamond Oval Carabiners (18kN MBS) - 20.1kN and 16.96kN ►3 Omega Carabiners (had ooze) - 28.75kN, 21.53kN and 29.68kN ►Groovy Hanger - Fixe SS 25kN MBS normally breaks at the 30kn to 40kn range but this one broke at 20.54kN ►FiFi hook corroded: 3.08kN and the sling broke at 6.28kN
