Your opinion on (hand-picked) ads? - Weekly(tm) Update #9

To get straight into it, not much has happened on the website. The script has gotten an update fixing some backend things. Truth is that I have just started some contract work to, you know, live. Besides that I have been busy on personal front, including buying a house and traveling to see my parents after half a year of lockdown.

I am planning to try and make time for more InflateVids development in the coming weeks, but I can not promise much right now. For now these check-ins will be bi-weekly since not much will change on a week-to-week basis. I will make sure that the website keeps being moderated daily though, and to make sure it all keeps running smoothly.

Now to get to the titular topic of this post: ads and sponsorship. No, this is not Google/Facebook/Microsoft ads. Besides them not wanting a website containing fetish content, I wouldn't like doing these kinds of ads because of tracking. Neither is it TrafficJunky/JuicyAds/Exoclick. They often offer services like pop-unders and misleading ads. I hate it on other (adult) sites, I wouldn't want it here.

No, it would be advertisement from companies in the community. Things like Inflatable World, Horseplay Toys or Balloons United (none of which I have contact yet, by the way). I have been approached by a company not much unlike the ones I mentioned and got asked if I would consider selling ad space.

The thing that makes me feel awkward is that I am already accepting donations/support on both Ko-fi and of course here on Patreon, thus I would love to know what you guys think about this. Let me put some advantages here though:

• Ads are hand-picked and thus always relevant to the website
• It will likely allow me to cover server costs
• I could put some of this money aside for new projects, like SFW or plush websites, and maybe a mobile app?
• Savings could be kept aside for when the goings get tough
• Tracking through ads will never be a thing
• (pro) Patrons will never see these ads show up (when logged in to their connected accounts), promise

Even with ads I would still appreciate and very much need your patronage, because ads won't run all the time and, as mentioned, I could use the extra money to fund new side projects and also have some savings in the case that support + ads don't meet server costs at some point.

The poll is simple: would you be okay with ads? Please let me know in the comments if you vote against ads, why do you not want them? And if you are okay with ads, what should the limit be and what should be avoided? Your opinion means a lot to me!
