What a launch (Update)

I want to start of by saying a big thank you to you few who have already pledged to support the InflateVids website! For the ones who got it, I know the pro account ain't much yet but I am planning to expand it as development of the website furthers. As for the lil Patreon badge, I'll start development on that as soon as I have time for it. Give it a month or two.

As you know, InflateVids officially launched on Monday the 14th of December 2020, as a little sparkly cherry on an otherwise crap cake of a year. I could not have imagined the support it immediately got, and the little amount of issue the website had handling this.

On launch day the website had 265 unique users. In launch week it was a total of 926 unique users. These 926 people had about 1900 sessions on the website with an average duration of 5 minutes and 30 seconds. That's pretty good for a website which relied on mouth to mouth advertisement!

Up to time of writing the website has 5024 videos views spread over 526 uploaded videos (though not all public), 213 registered users, 234 likes and 259 total channel subscriptions. For a rough 9 days that is certainly quite nice.

I would like to apologize for the brief performance degradation on launch day. That was due to me being a little too optimistic about importing who YouTube channels (with permission) on a day where plenty of others where also happy to upload their videos. The server had some issues encoding the videos and serving them. There was also the issue of Virgin Media not delivering InflateVids email to Yahoo email users, but that was solved with some computer magic (adding some forgotten records to the DNS).

Coming up is the Holidays, so not much will happen with development. Me and the small team of moderating volunteers will keep an eye on the website and submissions during this time.
