Hi peeps,
As I mentioned in my previous post, I am currently gearing up for a market in July, and much like the last one, I decided to prepare a few mini originals for it.
I again found a few frames I found inspiring, this time in Tkmaxx, and designed a few pieces to go in them.
I'm only doing 3 pieces this time, as I have a few leftover from the last market, which I will be bringing to this next one.
But first, I found a frame for my little Medusa painting from a while back :

I cut it out to fit it into it, and I absolutely love the final result!
So much so that I am considering not even selling it, haha.
We'll see XD
One of my favourite little finds at TKmaxx for this small unfolding frame, which I decided to paint a hollow, multi-part hand for :

The first panel will house the back of the hand, the second will have the skeleton, the third shows the veins (painted directly on the glass this time) and the final panel will have the palm of the hand.

Each painting is double-sided, with the back and palm of the hand hollowed out on the back and featuring tiny little candles.
The skeleton is also double-sided :

The aim is for all the drawings to sort of line-up with each other when the frame is closed :

I photographed these before I had varnished the pieces and cleaned the glass, so they don't quite line up perfectly yet but that is the intent.
I have so much fun making this, that I suspect I will make more pieces based on this concept in the future! :)
I look forward to putting it all properly together!
Next, I found this lovely frame with textured glass ( actually, I found 2 of the same), so here's the piece I created for it :

I was half considering using real ribbon on this one. Still not sure...
I am really enjoying making these little cut-out pieces, and I think they work well with glass frames.
A part of me would love to turn them into necklaces, haha.
I have one more piece to go, which will go into this frame :

(Bit wonky because I hastily put it together for a pic XD)
I am waiting for some (very) fine liners as this will be an ink drawing, so I'll share that once those have arrived and I've had a chance to work on it. :)
In the meantime, thank you so much for reading this post, and I hope you are all well!
All my love,
M
