Daily Doodle Diary - 2022 #4

Hi peeps,

Here's another batch of Daily Doodles!

I explored this concept for about 3 days. (The 1st day is in my previous Daily Doodle Diary batch here).
It's somewhat of a variation on my Kindling painting.
I haven't quite left that concept behind yet, I feel like I could take it further, so exploring other avenues for it is an interesting exercise.

The above sketch is another idea I've had on my mind for a while but haven't gotten round to finalising yet. I am picturing a person lying in water, with the current of the stream washing away their skin, only leaving behind bones. I would still want the overall image to exude calm though, and for the character to look blissful and at peace.

I think the above spread might be my favourite from this batch, probably to no-one's surprise XD.
I want to explore the idea of a hole spanning two bodies further at some point.

I started tiring a little at this stage, so instead of concepts, I mostly did quick studies from reference the past few days.

That's it for this batch!

I have fallen in a comfortable routine with daily doodles at the moment, they impart a nice rhythm to my weeks and so far have felt like a nice injection of pressure-free art-making in among the daily grind.

I hope this keeps going, but I'll take it happily while it lasts :)

Do you have a favourite from this batch?

Love, M

I really love the 21st I think it is, with the hoop. I like the tension of the hands and hips vs the hoop!

The ref for that one was too fabulous not to draw :D

Thanks Jeske! I seem to be enjoying monochromatic sketches at the moment :)

Love the mood of 26 :)

I love the hollow bodies sketches a lot! The concept of water washing away skin is awesome. But that deer at the end! Wow!
