Daily Doodle Diary - 2022 #2

Hi peeps,

How are you all?

Here is another batch of Doodle Diary sketches!

I can already see that I am starting to find my groove with the exercise again. In comparison with the previous batch, I am starting to use colour and feeling more decisive with my drawings.

I have been making a conscious effort to set out some time for drawing every single day, usually first thing in the morning, and it has really benefited both my mental health and my work life. I should have a few new sketches to share with you soon, and I am currently focusing on getting the Jan and Feb stickers and mini-prints designed.

Sorry for my dismal performance on here in January, I had high hopes I would manage to get work done but it turns out that having only 2 weeks to work on taxes as well as edit 2 videos and catch up on work was not enough. I tried to get the Process Video done for a good portion of last week but had a bunch of footage missing for my first timelapse choice, and for my 2nd choice, all the footage was corrupted. I am so sorry I didn't manage to get you the video on time for January. I will need to paint another set of pieces and should hopefully give you 2 process videos this month instead.

I will also be aiming to upload the 2021 Doodle Diary Video tour this week!

I really appreciate your patience with me, but I promise I will be upping my game now that I am done with taxes! My health is also not cooperating (same issues as last summer, no answers yet frustratingly...) so I need to take it a little slower than I have the last few years, but my attempt at building a habit of drawing every morning is already bearing fruit, so I'm excited to share that with you soon.

In the meantime, Here are some doodles!

My favs are Jan 28 and Feb 01. What about you?

The doodles above were all done on the 30th, and were based on the reference I noted on the top. The person in the photograph I referenced was bending backwards but was wearing a dress, so I couldn't see a good part of the middle of their body. My goal with this doodle was to try and figure out how the body might look in this position without the clothes, as a way to push my understanding of anatomy a little.

Feb 01's doodle is another take on a drawing I did during my 2019 Inktober series, which I had really liked at the time but never picked up again.

That's all for me for this post, I'll see you later this week for what should hopefully be either some sketches or a video!

All my love, M
