Hi peeps,
Here's day 5, fresh off the drawing table :D
My wrist is screaming at me for this one but I did have a lot of fun.
I used a few different techniques to achieve the wide range of value and detail the composition required.
I used various thickness of pen strokes to differentiate between the foreground and background textures.
I also used different hatching patterns to distinguish between the foreground trees and the background trunks, as well as the roots and the forest floor.
I also used my gray pen to accentuate shadows where needed and add some more subtle texture detail.
This piece, while not necessarily the most unique concept I may have come up with, feels like a pleasant echo of my past Inktober pieces. It is a little darker than the work I have been creating lately, and made me realise how I missed that sort of theme.
This is definitely an idea I would like to paint soon.
I hope you will like this one too, and that you are all well. :)
Take care peeps, see you for the next one!
