Hi peeps,
Inktober number 2, HUSH, is done. :)
I had a lot of fun with this one, but it was also quite daunting, as I was unsure until the end of how to go about creating enough of a visual distinction between the main two hands and the ones around them.
I considered using my grey pen to use a grayscale, but I prefer the black and white hatching look so I tried to find a way to make it work without introducing new colours.
I also extended the main hands beyond the edges of the frame to make sure they came into focus more and felt like they were on the foreground.

I used my own hands as references, and accentuated either the folds to make the hands look more mature, or the angles to make them appear more masculine or feminine.
I was initially going to have each hand holding a thread coming off of, or tied to, the fingers of the mouth hand, but I am still on the fence about it.
That was the intention behind the poses of the surrounding hands, but I also like the feeling that they are poised and ready to pick the mouth hand apart. They also almost look like they want to quiet the hand themselves.
Maybe I'll add them later, or maybe not, I think I will sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow.
I hope you'll like this one as much as I enjoyed working on it. :)
And I hope you are all doing well and having a lovely week-end!
Take good care lovely people,
See you again soon,
M
