Hello lovely people,
Here's a small piece I finished yesterday, Hollow Owl.
I feel like there are better combinations I could make with those 2 words...Hollowl? Howl? Howllow? XD
Anyway. It's a hollow bird. Because I am infatuated with this concept at the moment, so I'm exploring various combinations and variations of it. I want to work up to creating a much bigger piece that will incorporate this symbolism, and I have a few ideas in mind, but I will be working small for a little while to smooth out the kinks and details.
I am currently working on a few small pieces as I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. I am trying to work small and train my brain to create more diminutive concepts without sacrificing on detail.
I have always struggled with working on a more restricted scale, and since I am gradually starting to work bigger and bigger, going the other way round feels somewhat counter intuitive. So I am trying to fight that feeling.
Creating smaller pieces is a good way to train the brain to adapt to more restrictive conditions, and visualise and place elements in various different scales.
I want to make my brain more malleable and more adaptable, and this is one of the exercises I am currently focusing on.

Hollow Owl was actually my second attempt at painting small(ish), my first attempt not having gone all too well.
I will be attempting to recreate the concept on the left above soon, but it might have been a tad too ambitious a composition for me to attempt when I was as rusty as I was.
I have also started a third piece (below), which I should hopefully be able to share with you later this week. :)

Creating these pieces will also allow me to put the prints together for my lovely patrons in my higher tiers. Hollow Owl will be the print for November!
Talking of rewards, I will be shipping out stickers and mini-prints for up to January this week, and will share the February Design previews next week.
I will obviously keep you updated as I go!
In the meantime, I hope you are all well!
All my love,
M
