Hey peeps,
Here's another installment of my Doodle Diary!
This batch was another tough one, I still haven't quite managed to do those doodles early in the day instead of last minute before bed. Here's to May going better hopefully, haha.

Of this batch, my favourite is probably 18.
19 was a little portrait of my grandma from memory, on the day I learned she had passed.
I also like 23 a lot, and felt like covering two pages, so I tried to make 24 fit into the previous drawing a little.
26 was a doodle of a character for a comic project I started putting together this week, and am very excited about. I have no plans to work on a comic in the near future, I have a lot to learn before I can jump into that sort of endeavour, but an idea for one has been slowly crystallizing in my head and has me quite excited. Maybe I'll share more at some point :).
28 was another attempt at a concept from a previous doodle diary batch. I'd like to paint that idea at some point. The pose is weird, but I was mostly interested in creating the net.
And there we are.
Do you guys have a favourite?
How are you all doing in general?
Sending you love,
M
POST SCRIPTUM ( and a bit of background for 19)
The last week or so has been tough, in all honesty. My grand-mother died a week or so ago, not of Covid though, thankfully. She died a peaceful, natural death, in her bed, in her really lovely care-home. She had severe alzheimers for a long time, but she was the happiest, most peaceful little chinese old lady I ever met. She was loved by her carers at the home because she was always happy and kind. I didn't know her very well, because she lived in the US for most of my life, and already had alzheimers by the time she moved back to the UK, so building a relationship was difficult, but I love her to bits, and I'm so glad I was able to see her more during the last years of her life.
I am mostly really sad for my dad, as he lives in France and won't be able to come over for the funeral because of the lockdown. To be honest, I don't even know if I will be allowed to be there either. But at least she had a "good" death, a passing that was peaceful, painless, and gentle, and we were able to see her last year.
Here is one of the most recent and one of my favourite pictures of her.

Those are some quality slippers.
Anyway. Sorry if this was oversharing a little, I just wanted to share a little bit about her, because I loved her a lot, and she was wonderful.
Here's to my lovely little grandma. 🍷❤️️
Take care lovely people <3
