New flat, new WIP and more...

Hi everyone.

I am more or less back on my feet, or at least, back in front of my computer, and since I haven't properly updated you all in a little while, here's a quick run-down of latest events, what's new, and what's coming up.

If you can, make sure you read the whole post, as I always try to include info that might be interesting to you and you are a big part of my decision-making process. Your input is always valuable to me, and I want you all to feel like you can have an active role in changes, improvements, and the general life of this account, if you want to. :)

First is a Patreon-related update.

Patreon has finally activated an option called Charge Up Front, and I have applied it to my account.
Up to now, new patrons were always charged on the first of the month, regardless of when they signed up. So for example, if they signed up on the 5th of May, they'd get access to all the content at that tier, but would only get charged on the 1st of June.
This Charge Up Front feature means that new patrons will now be charged as soon as they pledge, instead of at the beginning of the next month, and anyone who increases their existing pledge will pay the increased balance immediately.

This does not affect any existing patrons (unless you increase your pledge), anyone already active before I activated the feature will see absolutely no change to their pledge, and everyone will continue getting charged on the 1st as normal!

It is a very useful feature for creators, since some of us experience people pledging half-way through the month, downloading all the content they get access to, and then deleting their pledge before they get charged. This new system will help reduce the likelihood of that kind of unfortunate thing happening to creators!

You can learn more about it all here : https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/210291283-What-is-charge-up-front-How-do-I-get-it?utm_medium=newsletter&utm_source=zendesk&utm_campaign=chargeupfront

If you have any questions at all, as always, do not hesitate to get in touch, and I'll do my best to answer any queries. :)

As some of you may have seen on Instagram, or in my Lenses here on Patreon, my boyfriend and I have finally found a flat, and we picked up the keys on Saturday!

Now commences the tedious (but also vaguely enjoyable, in my case at least) sorting, packing and organizing of all my stuff...
Plus, the flat is unfurnished, so that's also something we need to take care of.
I am officially moving in 2 weeks, so my days until then will consists mostly of packing, planning some work ahead of time so I can still have content to upload on here and on Instagram and Youtube while I'm moving, and going back and forth between the new flat and my current one to organise furniture deliveries and the like. Yay.

I will try my hardest to be active as normal on here, and rewards should be all going out as normal if I manage to organise myself properly, but do bear with me if I'm a bit slower at replying to comments and messages, or in sending out packages and the like, I promise I am doing my best! The week of the 6th to 11th of August will be the busiest for me I reckon, since I will be helping my boyfriend pack and move, and we will both be setting up our flat at that point, but I am hoping for things to get to normalcy after that. Fingers crossed...

Would you guys be interested in a tour of my new studio space once I'm settled into our flat?

This isn't an exhaustive list of everything I am planning for the next few months, as I have done in the past, because I am still working through those lists, but I wanted to let you know what will be happening this week, and get your point of view on a few things...

- My next big painting :
Some of you may have seen this in my lenses, but in case you didn't catch it, I am in the process of prepping my next big piece, the PDF for this month and print for next month, and it will be based on this sketch :

As always, you will get to see wips and progress pictures as I go! :)

- Sticker Poll :
Keep and eye out for my next sticker poll, as it is about time we had another design on the go ;)
I will have a little survey up some time this week hopefully, and anyone with physical rewards due next month will get a sticker of the design voted on by you in the mail!

- Italy?
Would you guys be interested in seeing some pictures of my trip to Italy last week? I didn't do much painting unfortunately, but I did film a bit, and took some pictures, and did a couple of sketches. I could do a small post about it all if that is something you think you might be interested in? No worries if not, obviously. :)

And on this note, I think that's it for me for this update!
I hope you are all well, that the weather is beautiful but not sweltering (it's crazy here), and that you have some holidays planned for yourselves if you haven't already been on them. :)

Take care lovely people,
All my love,

Myriam

Oh damn, a proper job. :) What do you love about Krakow? Marrakech is so full of energy, I'd love to go back for a proper amount of time. I'm sorry to hear things have been challenging, I hope they are settling down somewhat and that you are getting a breather. Thank you for sharing all this with me, I love hearing more about who you are!

I’m an in house lawyer in the City.... Oh, Romania - I’ve not been but I’d like to. And I have been to Marrakech - such a bustling, energising place! I do enjoy travel, but I haven’t been anywhere for a couple of years - life has been a bit challenging, and I’m just getting back on my feet. Next year!

Woaw, that's fantastic! Do you mind me asking what you do for a living? You don't have to share that information if you don't want to of course. I am yet to visit Germany and Poland, but I was lucky enough to go to Romania for work a couple years ago, and have seen a bit of Europe too, as well as South Korea and Morocco. Are you an avid traveler in your own time then?

I’ve moved a few times in my life, so I know what it’s like! I’ve travelled a fair amount - I’ve been to Tokyo, New York and San Francisco for work in the past, but now I go to Jersey (Channel Islands) 4 times a year. For holidays I’ve been to a lot of Europe - my favourite place is Berlin, closely followed by Krakow.

Thank you Christina, I will do my best to balance everything in as healthy a way as possible, it really helps that you are so understanding and supportive! I can't wait to show you all my new studio ^^ <3

Thank you dear! I can't wait to be done with the move, so I can go back to painting properly, and I'm glad you're excited about my next piece ^^

Thanks Kristy! Words of wisdom about moving, for sure. I will try and put together a tour of my new space, I'm excited to finally have a space dedicated to working, even though it won't be as gorgeous as the room I have now. Do you travel a lot? Where have you been?

Have enough breaks! Moving can be so exhausting (but fun). So take your time, and dont mind if you finish your big painting a bit late! I would love to watch a studio tour when its finished and you have time for it, I love studio tours <3 And pictures from italy would be great too!

Christina Wenzel

The new painting sketch looks fabulous! Don’t run yourself ragged trying to do all the things - moving can be fun, but hard work, and always takes more time than you think. But congratulations! I would love a new studio tour - but only when you have time! And a little peek into Italy would be glorious - one of the countries I’ve not yet visited! Look after yourself! xx
