May 15th update
Added 2023-05-15 12:49:27 +0000 UTCUPDATE: Thank you everyone for the well wishes about my cat. We had to put her down Monday afternoon. The poor thing had tumors all over her liver. I’m sad but it’s also a relief because her condition deteriorated so much so quickly. She turned 11 in March and I got her when she was a few weeks old, so she was part of the RAB family for a long time.

Hey everyone. There was a pet medical emergency in the Axisa household over the weekend and I've had neither the time nor the motivation to watch or write about the Yankees. I’m going to skip Tuesday’s post this week, but things will be back to normal Friday. My goofball cat …
… is doing a bit better but she’s not improving as much as I hoped, and I fear another vet visit is coming soon. I spent much of the day Saturday at the vet and most of Sunday stressing out or tending to her. Why can’t pets just tell you what’s wrong? Major flaw in the system.
I did watch the Yankees pick up their best win of the season Friday night, though I missed their new best win of the season Saturday. I watched the highlights the next day but they don’t hit quite the same way as watching a comeback like that live. The Yankees blew a 6-0 lead with Gerrit Cole last weekend. The Rays blew a 6-0 lead with Shane McClanahan this weekend. Call it even.
Splitting four games with the Rays, and losing four of seven to Tampa these last two weekends, is not a good outcome for the Yankees given the standings, though I guess I should be happy all but one game was competitive and the Yankees didn’t get buried. The Yankees really need their pitchers to get healthy. The offense looks the best it has all season though. That’s a welcome sight.
This week’s Blue Jays series – four games in Toronto! – is very important by May standards. Much more important than the Rays series because the Yankees are more likely to compete directly with the Blue Jays for a postseason spot than the Rays. In this case, a split is a good outcome. Would be awfully nice to make up some ground this week though.
Sorry about skipping Tuesday’s post. I’ll get back on the horse for Friday. Thanks for understanding, and thanks as always for reading and your support.

A great thing for me has been to go through my many apps and clouds and gather up all the photo/video memories and put them in one place to relive all the good. A nice place to visit when needed. Gone, but not forgotten!
