Welcome! + Updates (#5)

Hey there! I just want to open this post by saying thank you to all future patrons, I really appreciate the interest and your support. If you just signed up or haven't seen this page's About section yet, I really encourage you to give it a quick read just so you know what you're truly signing up for.

This post will also be mainly used for updates regarding the page or other events and any links I feel are important to share.

I'm finally happy to announce that the discord server is finally open! Chances are if you've linked your discord account to patreon you've been sucked/invited into the server by some force, as reported by the people who are already in, as they've said they got automatically added. If this is of any inconvenience to you or it caused you a bit of a scare I apologize, not even I knew this is how patreon worked with discord.

If you would like to join the server but haven't been added yet, please make sure you already have a discord account. Then, on your patreon's profile settings go over to apps and link your account. You'll be automatically added to the server. Overall it has already proven to be a much more convenient place to access my work, so if you don't have a discord account yet I highly encourage you to make one and join the server. Of course this doesn't mean I will stop posting on Patreon in favor of discord, I will continue to post everything here as well. We've been developing the server a bit more with the help of everyone and it's already shaping up to be a rad place to be in.

Hey there guys! I just wanted to open up by saying that I'd like to address a few changes I've made to my bio, which is where most of the information regarding my content is detailed. This is mostly targeted to people who joined the page late January which is when I made a few changes, but if you've been keeping a close eye I encourage you to keep reading. 

When I first launched my Patreon page, my bio specified that the number of drawings I would be uploading monthly would fluctuate but I'd aim to upload more than one piece of work, as I am currently working a part-time nightshift job + studying for my bachelors (which btw I hope to graduate by the end of the year!). However, due to the unexpected volume of people who started joining I was rather overwhelmed (in a positive way) and felt as I was obligated to somehow reassure my patrons that I could maintain a consistent upload schedule. Come late January, this is when I decided to update my bio to say that I met with a quota of 4 drawings a month. Now we're nearing the end of February, and embarrassingly it does not seem like I'll be able to fulfill this promise. And for that, I apologize.

This is why I will go back to sticking to the original plan of promising at least more than one drawing and a few doodles a month, until we reach our goal of 150 total patrons where I'll be able to test just how many drawings I'm able to put out under a much more flexible schedule, since I'll be able to quit my part-time job.

I'm really sorry if this comes off as terrible news to anyone, but being transparent will work out a whole lot better for us mutually in the long-run. Once again, I apologize.

Moving on to more positive news however, I'd like to dedicate a bit more time to the discord server I've been building up with a help of a friend of mine (who has done the majority of the work). Of course on the surface it's just another server so I can see the lack of incentive for people to join. This is where I'll hopefully grab your interest! I'm not sure how long these will take but I will be working on a set of Braixen emojis exclusive to my server. I'll make sure these won't take too much time off of my obligation to keep making content for Patreon however, this is why the release of these emojis will remain tentative.

How are ya'll doing? Before making the announcement, I want to point out that I've changed the order of updates on this post from new to old. Just a small quality of life change that'll save you the time of scrolling down to read the new stuff. 

Anyhow, with the recent change to digital mediums I've decided to introduce 2 new benefits to the three scoops tier: Drawing time-lapse videos and source files! This is something that would've otherwise been impossible to do via traditional means, and now you can have a much more detailed look at my drawing process.

This is something that the three scoop tier patrons already knew beforehand but I just wanted to officially reveal it to the rest of my patrons now, as I know that even for the current people who are subscribed to the $6 tier, it was rather barebones in benefits. So now I think it holds some value.

I don't want to make my one scoop patrons feel left out however, so I'll also be making one of the benefits that was already available to three scoop patrons accessible to everyone, and that's WIPs/teasers. I feel this balances things out a bit with the introduction of the two new benefits.

Something I forgot to announce yesterday was that I'll be returning to digital drawing around mid February! Which is when I expect my new pen will be arriving. I've decided to prioritize getting back to drawing digitally first since it'll actually impact my entire drawing process, speed and consistency. I'm still looking at different options for what table to get, but that'll be the last change I will be making to my whole set up. I'll actually be going to IKEA next week to check stuff out.

I've decided that uploading 4 exclusive pieces of work for my patrons will be my monthly goal. This hadn't occurred to me until now, but I'll also be posting any doodles I do here and there on top of the 4 full pieces of work. I do hope this is up to everybody's expectations! I'd also like to share an idea I've been thinking about during this month, and that is that I'll be settling on a monthly theme. This is to help me focus on a specific topic which in turn will also improve my drawing abilities, it also helps with having consistent drawing ideas.

As always thank you so much for you continued support, it's something I'll never stop drawing. The page is nearly a month old already and it started off way better than I could've ever expected.

Discord server soon!

It's still in the planning stages but with the help of somebody else, we're preparing to make a discord server! If you want to know the person behind the page a bit more, as well as the people who share a common interest with the content shared here, do look forward to that. If you've been wanting to make any alterations to the work posted here and want to share it, this place will be for that too.
