[poll] Change to Subscription Billing
Added 2024-05-01 01:25:23 +0000 UTCHello everyone! Over the years I've noticed occasionally dissatisfaction or problems with the way Patreon traditionally handles payments.
As I'm sure you're aware, currently Patreon charges on the day you sign up and then the 1st of every month. Its very simple, but can occasionally lead to situations where you might subscribe at the end of the month, and be immediately charged a week/few days later.
This has sometimes led to members subscribing and then immediately canceling their subscription to avoid this.
Patreon does offer subscription-based billing, in which you will be charged every 30 days from the day you subscribe, instead of the 1st. This has advantages for the consumer, obviously, but it does make it a lot less predictable for me, especially considering i rely on the periodic income in order to pay the rent on my residence.
Additionally, where I to implement this change, it is permanent. It cannot be reversed once executed.
To that end, I pose the question to my members: would you prefer I switch this project to subscription-based billing, or are you fine with how the current system works? I won't make this change unless an overwhelming majority of you swing one way (emphasizing: this is permanent for me.)
