You do an incredible job of separating character and continuity. You do keep the tension of the Eve revelation up, but it's getting to be too much of a tease, only my opinion, Although this new Jessica arc sounds spectacular. Nice mention of the art closet. Keep going I love this series.

2025-06-04 22:28:07 +0000 UTCAfter reading this chapter a few times, I feel confident in saying Jessica is being compelled in this moment. She wasn't even officially a part of Alicia's case when she ran into Kai & company at the hospital. Nick was though. If anyone was going to be tasked with arresting Kai due to new evidence it would be him, or more probably someone else entirely since both Jessica and Nick have solid connections to Serenity. But Jessica is a female, and thus, vulnerable to an incubi's compulsion. And since she's also cursed, she might be a pawn and a long term mole by a supernatural player who is moving against Kai.

Going all the way back to book 2 when Gabriella thought Kai was unintentionally "messing with her mind" as much as she as a succubus was affecting him. There were several other points in the story where his women seemed to go from zero to a hundred at the drop of a hat. Granted, some of those times a succubus was involved. But I always assumed an incubus could just ramp up the sex drives of the women around him, consciously or not.

The sex scenes were very hot, I would love to see a reversal sometime with Michelle dominating the exchange and "punishing" Claire for how she mistreated Avery in the past, perhaps showcasing the full scope of her own bratty/entitled cheerleader side. Having said that, obviously right now is about Claire being the star/in control and doing what she wants, which is great and something she clearly needs; however, even then you can still see/feel how desperate she is for Michelles approval, constantly asking if shes her "favorite". As ive mentioned before, I feel like this might foreshadow their relationship changing/evolving from being simply 'girlfriends', and instead almost creating a surrogate mother/daughter bond. I could also be totally wrong and you may have a different idea for where their relationship leads; either way i am excited to see what happens. As far as the revelation about Kais influence on the women in his life, it makes sense that without him there or influencing their passion for each other it wouldnt be as enjoyable for them; I believe the majority of his women were mostly straight to begin with, yet are now not only actively seeking out each other for sex, but also enjoying it almost as much as with him, showing his sway/power over their feelings and his ability to increase their desire for anyone in the harem. Whilst this could be considered a worry, one that Kai himself did somewhat allude to, he only has everyones best interests at heart, so i feel like him having this effect/impact on the harem members, even when he's not involved directly, is a good choice and keeps his presence in every aspect of the story. Finally, excited to see what happens with Jessica, it looks like Kai will be going scorched earth on these potential enemies and i for one cant wait.
