This stock will be added to the 2024 batch, and as such, I will be releasing it for sale at midnight (00:01 2nd August 2023) UK time) via my webshop.

I cannot allocate these particular books through Patreon, my apologies, but if you'd like to add to your order, you'll get the chance - as long as you're quick!

2023 Update! Hello Friends, Old and New :]

Hi everyone!

To all those who were here last year, thank you for your continued support :]
To all those who have just joined my Patreon, welcome, and thank you as well :D

The end of 2022 was particularly busy for Alarm Eighteen, and I'm still catching up on messages, orders, and reservations. Thank you all for being patient with me.

I am well overdue with announcing my monthly giveaway winners, something I will remedy this week, so keep your eyes open!

The main reason for this post is to announce the following officially:

I will not be making more Harry Potter content/items beyond the end of 2024.

Most of you will have seen my Instagram story regarding this, but if you haven't and would like to, here's a link to it.

Please note this will not affect my other ongoing magical work, particularly The Treasury of Magical Enigmas books, such as The Potioneer's Pocketbook. Quite the opposite, in fact: this will be my main focus from now on.

If you wish to order or reserve any of my Harry Potter items, you will need to do so soon, as once the stock has depleted throughout 2023, it will not be restocked again for the foreseeable future.

2022 Books we All Need - Shipping!

The time is nearly here! I will start sending out the 2022 books next month :]

Those of you who are still paying off their 2022 books may now want to consider paying the remaining balance, either via Patreon (increase next month's amount to cover the total) or PayPal (I can send a request for the outstanding amount). You do not have to do so - if you want to keep your payments as they are and wait for your book/s, that's fine too.

However, if you have completed your payments, you'll want to keep an eye on your email. I'll soon be contacting everyone who has done so to collect address details. Not all books are finished yet, so don't worry if you don't hear from me straight away. You will get the email eventually :]

In regards to Patreon, response to this is mandatory, as I have not yet collected any information from you and cannot ship without it.

Please open, fill, save, attach, and return the form found in the email as soon as possible.

PATREON EXCLUSIVE - Books we All Need 2024

Hello again, everyone!

Thank you so much for voting in the poll featured in my previous post. It seems that opening 2024 book reservations now is by far the most popular choice... so that's what I'm going to do! Here's a quick run-down of what this means.

EXCLUSIVE TO PATREON! 
Only Patreon Patrons will be able to reserve the 2024 books for now - this option will not be made available to non-Patrons (via my website) until July 2023. At this time, I will relist my preorders as I have done previously.

QUANTITY LIMIT 
I will be setting a copy quantity limit for the 2024 books, but I have not yet decided what this will be (at least 200 of each book, though, as it was this year). As the 2024 reservations are currently an exclusive for Patreon Patrons, you will get 'first dibs' on them anyway, so there's no need to worry about them disappearing before you get a chance.

ALREADY PAYING? 
If you are already paying towards 2022 books, all you'll need to do is keep up your subscription once your current books are paid for, and let me know which book/s you'd like to reserve for 2024. Anything you have overpaid (should this be the case) will be allocated to the 2024 books.

NEW PATRONS 
If you have just subscribed and want to reserve for 2024, the tier information explains what you need to do - most importantly, send me a direct message with your books choice! This is also the case for any existing Patrons who wish to cancel now and resubscribe later.

At this time, I would be most grateful for any shares of my Patreon page on social media. Books we All Need - 2024

I'd like to ask for your opinion regarding reservations for the next round of Books we All Need (in 2024). Some of you have already requested to continue paying towards these (which I had not really anticipated), and I won't be offering them via my website until this time next year. I am trying to work out whether I should keep up payments here while I take my 'year off', and so I would be most grateful if you could choose your preference in the poll below.

SOLD OUT for 2022

Hello all! 

Just a short message to let you know that 'A Book of History', 'A Book of Self-Defence' and 'A Book of Supernatural History' are no longer available to reserve for this year's batch. I have reached the 200 copy limit.

My other books are still available, but may not be for very long. So if you're looking to start a reservation, or add more books to  your current reservation, you may want to do it sooner rather than later! Remember, the next books won't be made until the end of 2024.

A Little Change

Hello all! I hope you're keeping well.

This isn't the most interesting of posts, so please feel free to skip to the end if you're not overly concerned about payment methods on here.

I just wanted to let you know about a little change in regards to how I will be managing your payments, or more specifically, the way in which I measure your total in relation to your chosen currency.

Up until now, I have been working out how much you're paying by converting your monthly payment myself each month. However, I have come to realise that, as the currency exchange shifts, this isn't always the most accurate way to do so. I have now gone through each and every one of my Patrons and set up an automatic system in which your total will be updated my end using £ (GBP), based on the currency conversion at the time of each payment. This means that moving forward I will be measuring all payments against the £120 total per book, rather than an estimated $160 (USD), €144 (Euro), etc. 

In short... you do not need to do anything! I'm just letting you know. However, if you would like to switch your currency over to GBP, this might help you keep track of your total a little more easily. If you ask me for the 'amount remaining' regarding your book reservation, this will now come in GBP as well, although I can provide you with a payment breakdown in your chosen currency.

Forgive me for the money talk, and I hope that all makes sense! Please ask any questions below :]

200 Copy Limit - Nearly Reached

Hello again, everyone!

This is pretty much a final call to say that I have very, very few copies of the Books we All Need range left to reserve. If you wish to start paying towards a book, or books, or wish to add more to your current reservation, you need to do so now!

I'll announce on here (and Instagram) when each book limit is reached, but they all now have only 20 to 40 copies left.

Remember to send me a direct message to confirm the titles you'd like. I'd hate for anyone, but especially my wonderful Patreon Patrons, to miss out and have to wait until 2024!

2022 is upon us!

A huge hello to all of my lovely Patreon Patrons, and Happy New Year! I hope you all emerged from the holiday period happy and healthy.

I also want to say welcome to all of my new Patrons, as I have gained more than ever over the last month, which is fantastic! It's lovely to see you here, and thank you  so much for supporting my work :]

I have just made my way through all of my Patreon direct messages, so if you've sent one in the past month or so, you should now have had a reply. If not, I apologise, and please do get back in touch.

A few questions/points of confusion popped up repeatedly while I was making my way through the 150+ threads yesterday and today, so I thought I'd open up the comment section here as somewhere for you all to offer 'constructive criticism'. I want this platform (and all of my platforms) to be as easy to understand and accessible as possible, so I am always open to updating my methods. And what better time to do this than at the start of a new year?!

An example of this is the clarity of book cost, in particular, confusion between currencies - many thought that the cost of Books we All Need was $120 (USD) rather than £120 (GBP).

So, please feel free to comment below if you have any thoughts on ways I could improve my services here on Patreon. I'll reply and take all suggestions into consideration.

Patreon or PayPal - Paying Off Part Payment

Would you like some more p's with that?!

I thought it would be worth mentioning this to everyone as I've been asked a few of times over the past few days.

If at any point you wish to pay off your reserved books in full, rather than continue your monthly part-payment, you have two options:

1 - Increase your Patreon payment amount so that your next monthly payment covers the outstanding total.

2 - Transfer the outstanding total via PayPal. If you want to do this, simply send the amount to info@alarmeighteen.co.uk and drop me a message here to let me know. If you would prefer me to send a payment request for the amount, send me a message first and I can arrange this.

Please note that paying off the total won't necessarily mean that your books will become available immediately. However, if they are ready, they will be sent out to you as soon as possible.

Goodbye 2021 - Hello 2022!

As of today, any reservations placed for Books we All Need will be allocated from next year's batch. If you have already reserved books, you will receive them at the end of this year (or as soon as your payments are complete, if that's later on!).

Payments are being processed now, and will complete by the 2nd/3rd June. If this is your first month, do check and make sure that your payment has been successful, just in case, otherwise your reservation might not stand!

June Approacheth, Verily!

We're coming into the last week of May now, which means that you only have a few days left to finalise your reservations. Come June 1st (after the next payments are taken), I will be changing the '2021 - Part Payment' and '2021 - A Book of Choice' tiers to say '2022' instead - no further book reservations will be accepted for this year's batch.

Remember, you only need to pay the £10 reservation per book by this time, not the full amount- you can pay it off over the next year or so.

As in my previous message, PLEASE REMEMBER TO CONFIRM YOUR BOOK CHOICES WITH ME! Without knowing the book titles I am unable to reserve books for you this year, and your payments will be shifted into the 2022 batch. If I am awaiting this information from you, I will have sent you a direct message via Patreon. You don't need to message me yourself if I haven't been in touch.

This isn't meant to be a moany post, but I do need to chase a few of you.

I have just sent out Patreon direct messages to everyone who is paying monthly for a book/books, but has not yet told me which one/s they'd like.

IT IS VITAL THAT I GET THIS INFORMATION BEFORE THE END OF JUNE, otherwise your books will not be reserved, even if you have paid. This will mean that you won't get them this year, or ever... if you never let me know!

I will only try once more (in mid-June) to contact those mentioned, so please do check your messages.

If you haven't received a DM from me, I already have your reservation marked and everything is fine, so I ask that you don't contact me in this case (otherwise my inbox will be flooded!). HOWEVER, If you wish to add more books to your reservation, then please do get in touch :)

Free Font! Interactive Creation

As many of you may have seen, I held a little interactive project over on my Instagram a few days ago, the result of which is a new symbol/rune font, now called 'Aeolian'.
