I had always personally shipped Harry and Hermonie, I have no problem with Ron, but always felt Harry and Hermonie had more chemistry. However, I have to say I really appreciate the platonic friendship on screen throughout this movie. It's easy to mistake them as flirting, but it's just a genuinely beautiful friendship, and I'm so glad they portrayed it as such in the movies, even going back to the conversation in the 5th book regarding Ginny and Ron, when Hermonie attacked Ron with the conjured birds.

Brooke, you mentioned doing another Director’s filmography. How about David Fincher? He did The Game, Fight Club, Se7en, The Social Network, Gone Girl, and Panic Room. He’s very highly regarded, and not as pretentious as Chris Nolan’s latest films (I do love Nolan’s earlier works).

If you all haven't seen the Planet of the Apes movies (the newer ones starting with Rise of the Planet of the Apes) they're pretty good, and Andy Serkis (Gollum/Smeagol, King Kong, overall motion-capture badass) plays the ape character Caesar.

Omg yes they sure do 😩 I was in tears when deathly hallows came out and I read all the deaths. The moves did not do the books justice with the overwhelming emotion everyone feels and the battle itself was so much more grand. I haven’t read the book since it came out. I’m going to have to restart the books.

Hedwigs death hurt because she was Harry’s first companion/pet/bestfriend. Loved how they always used her for the winter transitions and then Dobbys death hurt because he was one of those first friends. In the second movie Harry made dobby promise to never try and save his life again and in this one he does and died 😢😓

So glad you told them the details. So many details left out , like the fact that the death eaters only knew it was Harry when the battle of seven potters came , because Harry’s trademark spell is expelliarmus, and they knew instantly it was him. I really wish we would’ve gotten a longer scene for that battle, it was so detailed in the book and mad eye moodys death as well. Ugh so much important details left out .

Pirates of the Caribbean has been a franchise I've patiently been hoping you get to soon. It's a good series that people love but isn't one of those S tier fan bases like Harry potter or LOTR. And whenever you go back to the one off classics Good Will Hunting is still my favorite of that era for just a feel good comfort movie.

I've loved watching your Stranger Things, Harry Potter and MCU journey. Tony mentioned Godzilla. I would beyond happy to see you guys enter The Monsterverse films! Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019) , Godzilla vs Kong (2020) Monarch: Legacy of Monsters ( TV series) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire( 2024). The first 3 movies have a more serious tone and the last 2 are more popcorn type movies but a lot of fun! Another movie is due in 2027.

I just want to share some details from the books that aren’t explained in the movies. There are so many, but these are the ones that come to mind right now: Voldemort split his soul into seven parts—one in himself and six Horcruxes. By the end of this movie, we’ve seen three destroyed: Harry stabbed the diary with a basilisk fang, Dumbledore used the venom-infused Sword of Gryffindor to destroy the ring, and Ron used the Sword again to destroy the locket. Three down, three to go—no clue what they are yet, though! In the book, there’s this beautiful moment where Ron says, “I think Dumbledore gave me this lantern because he knew I’d abandon you.” And Harry responds, “No, he knew you’d always want to come back.” Speaking of Dumbledore, we learn the thief in Harry’s vision is Grindelwald! Ron mentions Dumbledore defeated him in 1945 and took the Elder Wand. Oh, and with Sirius’ death, Harry inherited Kreacher, the grumpiest house-elf alive. But Harry’s kindness (like letting him keep the fake Horcrux) totally wins Kreacher over. He becomes super loyal and even tolerable to be around. Progress! The movies left out Wormtail’s death, which was dark and poetic. In the Malfoy dungeon, he catches Harry and Ron escaping and starts strangling Harry, but Harry reminds him of the life debt from Prisoner of Azkaban. Wormtail hesitates, and Voldemort’s cursed silver hand turns on him, strangling him to death. Grim, but fitting. Hermione’s sacrifice is heartbreaking—she erased her parents' memories of her to protect them from Voldemort. The good news? It’s reversible, so they can be reunited when it’s safe. 🥲 Their survival during the hunt for Horcruxes, they scavenged for food, fished, hunted, and relied on Hermione’s enchanted backpack for supplies. Food can’t be created by magic , so hunger added to their tension, especially with Ron. The struggle was real. 🍞⚡ And finally... RIP dear Dobby. From saving Harry in Chamber of Secrets to dying in Deathly Hallows, he was a true hero. “Such a beautiful place... to be with friends.” 🧦💔 Only one movie left, and I’m already sad it’s ending!

With all the darkness in the HP movies, and now WD, you two could stand a movie that is a little more...optimistic? Superman will fill that bill, and it as about time you two started to dig into pre 2000 movies, there is a treasure trove of entertainment not reliant on CGI. Superman is a good start, but I'd like to see more older flicks, and there are so many iconic ones from way back then. Movies like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, The Terminator, and Back to the Future were all so good they spurred multiple sequels. And of course, the Godfather 1&2, two of the best movies ever made. Just remember, the world of cinema didn't begin in the last 25 years, and there is a ton of quality movies to watch made before 2000.

So before you do part 2 here is a very important piece of info that the movie doesn’t explain and for some reason just assumes the viewer knows. I wanted to wait until you got this far so it doesn’t spoil anything and important events in the last film makes sense: For the Patronus we know that a fully formed patronus takes the shape of an animal and everyone has a unique patronus based on their personality. What they don’t say in the films but it is talked about in the book by this point, is that strong emotions for someone can cause your patronus to change its form and take after the form of that other person’s patronus. That’s all I’m gonna say. Don’t think too hard on it, it’ll make sense for a specific scene in pt 2

In the films, Harry and Hermione are essentially best friends. They actually said that in the last film. The dance in this film wasn’t meant to be romantic at all. It’s actually extremely sad. At this point everything is so depressing and devoid of happiness that the dance scene is the one moment they were able to grab even a slither of happiness. And after the song ended it was over. It was gone again. Beautiful scene but also really sad and not meant to imply anything beyond a deep platonic relationship.

I think when you guys mentioned a few reactions back the musical with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, you were thinking of Sweeney Todd, not Edward Scissorhands. Edward Scissorhands has Winona Ryder w/ Depp and it is not a musical. It’s also one of the best not-Christmas Christmas movies from my childhood. Def worth watching.
