Two other fantastic WWII films: "Schindler's List" (based on real life), and "Jojo Rabbit" (a less serious take by Taika Waititi) Now I really can't wait for "(D)jango".

Throughout the whole film he's a character who gets off on having a leg up on people and messing with them. From my perspective he totally knew. And it wasn't because of a grand plan, its plainly because he enjoys it.

2024-09-18 07:19:14 +0000 UTCI think overall Basterds is a ways down the list of my favorite Tarantino films, but as far as individual scenes go, the opening scene at the milk farm and the basement bar scene are two of the best things he's ever done imo. Those are two examples of how to f'n nail filmmaking.

Christoph Waltz in this movie who played Landa is an all time great actor. You'll see him star in Django as well and he is maybe even better in that.

So ya Brad Pitt took some bumps lol but to my knowledge it was more prevalent on the Nazi side.
