2024-06-20 06:01:47 +0000 UTCAbsolutely interesting. I suggest you do that. It is heavily implied in the books. Rheagar spent a lot of time in the citadel researching. Maester Aemon mustve known as well since he told Sam in the books that he thought Rhaegar was the prince who was promised.

2024-06-16 19:10:29 +0000 UTCI don’t know if someone said this already but the term “second son” is like you “will never inherit” cause the only way they do is if the heir and their children all die. There’s a group in Essos in GOT called the “Second sons” that’s a sell sword company. You hear it a few times in GOT and it’s a coined phrase just meaning someone who needs to make their way in the world and take power, not inherit it. I believe Corlys refers to himself as a second son even though he is the lord of Driftmark because his Targaryen cousins came to rule Westeros even though both of their families come from Old Valyria. Otto could be seen as a second son as well, since his brother is the warden of the south and lord of old town (Hightower), he had to make his power by becoming hand of the king to Jaehaerys after Viserys’ brother died, then became hand to Viserys himself. 2024-06-16 06:35:37 +0000 UTCFun little fan theory here is when you listen closely when Rhaenyra and Alicent meet by the godswood in episode 4 you can hear a raven cawing, could be absolutely nothing but they did intentionally make that audible and some people think it's going to be some sort of connection to Bran possibly listening in. No idea why but maybe its a hint to something later, they added the whole prince that was promised and dagger to this story to connect to Game of Thrones for some reason because it's not in the book so just adds to the theory.

He knew if he brought her there they would probably get caught and his brother would most likely find out and be forced to we them. it just didnt go as planned lol. He was also trying to expose otto for being a spy and only looking out for himself so he at least got that part of the plan lol

2024-06-15 23:45:50 +0000 UTCDaemon is a freaking Rockstar! He's my favorite character. Very calculated. The Crabfeeder and his men were hiding in the caves....where they had the upper hand. He drew them out...great strategy! Rhaenys Targaryen(the Queen who never was), Viserys' cousin, was half Baratheon. Her parents were Prince Aemon Targaryen and Lady Jocelyn Baratheon. I found it interesting and almost funny how Robert Baratheon was so hell bent on killing all Targaryens but his grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen. It's just a testament to how quickly things can change and how the line of succession is so blurry. You will understand more as it goes along and how everyone is basically related.

She says basically Would you have me raise my son to usurp the throne from his sister? Otto needed something on Rhaenyra to clear the way for Aegon to rule. His grandson on the Iron throne gives him a lot more power than being a second son who is Hand of the King. If Aegon was still a child when he was crowned then Otto would become Protecter of the Realm until Aegon turned 16. That is a much more powerful position. I believe that is what Otto was attempting to do by having Rhaenyra spied on. Viserys knew that and called him out on it in the bedroom. That’s why he said Otto wants his own blood on the throne instead of Rhaenyra.

He talked about being Dornish and that they are looked down upon. Season 1 may not have explained it clearly or they changed it in the books, but he did an interview about it.

The king's heir should be just as important to him. Sharing what he knew about her made it obvious it was for his own gain.

Daemon beat the messenger in a fit of rage because he felt the letter stating Viserys was sending aid meant he saw him as incompetent and unable to win on his own. (Basic sibling rivalry with a psycho twist) Otto has the Hightower on his chest because the Hightower family seat resides there in Oldtown where it is located. If you remember from the histories and lore....they originated in the Reach. They are wealthy and proud bannerman for House Tyrell. Margery's mother was Alerie Hightower, she was a descendant of House Hightower. Also, the Crabfeeder is Craghas Drahar, a prince from Meereen. He has greyscale and wears a mask like the Son's of the Harpy. Thanks for the reaction! I'm sending prayers for your family during this difficult time. (Let's just say I can relate.) Love you guys!!

Their family is named after that tower. Citadel is under the governance of Lord of the Old Town, i.e. Lord Hightower. Maesters are loyal to them in a way.

First one shows the conqueror's crown with the scene of doom of Valyria representing Aegon the conqueror. The symbol then fills with blood because he is dead. Those symbols that doesn't fill up with blood indicates that person is alive. Blood then flows to Aegon's sister wives Rhaenys and Visenya. Visenya's line ends with Maegor. Rhaenys' line goes to Aenys and then to Jaehaerys (old king from the beginning of episode 1) and Alysanne. Then blood channels to several of their children. Out of which we see Baelon and Alyssa (parents of Viserys and Daemon) and Aemon Targaryen and Jocelyn Baratheon (parents of Rhaenys the queen who never was). Alyssa and Baelon's line then flows to Viserys and Daemon. Viserys and Aemma Arryn's line flows to Rhaenyra. Her symbol is that locket of valyrian steel necklace that Daemon gifted her in episode 1. Daemon's symbol is his dragon wing helmet. Viserys' symbol is his crown. Aemma Arryn's symbol fills with blood because she died in episode 1. Finally blood runs into the fire pit under Targaryen sigil. Fire and Blood. If you watch the intro of each episode you will see it updating according to new people being born and dead.

Starts from Aegon and ends with showing stuff like viserys,rhaenyra,daemon etc. sometimes it shows house sigil but other times it shows stuff that’s important to the characters like with rhaenyra it shows the necklace daemon gives her. Hope o explained that ok lol
