The Green Mile (1999) Reaction

I think Mr. Jingles accidentally got some of John's powers when he was taking the pain away from the French guy.

Whewy, buddy, that one had me crying all the way through. I forgot how emotional it was gonna be.

ShittyShittyGameGang

ya'll are so freaking sweet

EnVy316LeGeNd

The past was the worst

Chase Schleich

Iron fist s2 was better than s1 but i still agree with your statement. It is by far the weakest link.

Jay Owin

I often feel like 100 years ago was simpler, but my anxiety also makes me think today is so chaotic, but seeing movies like this, I feel like those in that time also thought it was chaotic, and people 100 years from now will think our time was simple. I know I went on a tangent but still.

Edward Martin

I lost so much sleep watching 90% of this before bed last night and just getting to the breakdown now. Love you guys. I don't know or care about the official genre of this film but if you enjoyed it here are 3 other movies that I feel fall into this beautiful subset of films: K-Pax (2001) Phenonmenon (1996) Powder (1995) If anybody can think of any others or have seen any of the above sound off down below. I dont really feel emotions like i should but i am empathtic. I feel the proper emotions vicariously thru you. Thank you for being you. I support you here when i can because you are some of the most real reactors out there. Keep up the good work! Edit: john intentionally passed on his gift to tom hanks so he could see the vision of what wild bill did. but mr jingles was an accident. Some of his gift spilled out without his intention.. If you watch it back you can see a spark when he runs away.

Jay Owin

Yeah sorry that's why I was on about crying and the tissues because if there's ONE movie you need then it's THIS ONE. But I didn't want to give it away! I just wanted you to be comfortable, because I knew what was coming! πŸ€— Stephen King is spiritual or religious so his themes reflect that, he seems to also really understand the human heart/spirit, and I like how this movie is paced showing us that. I don't believe in supernatural evil, I think it's more neuro scientific, referring to people who are predatory and without empathy (like Billy) or sadistic as a coping mechanism for insecurity (like Percy). Which should be good news to people, because we can work with the natural way things shape out and "get em while they're young".

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

This is probably the most emotionally draining movie I've ever watched. Don't make gems like this anymore.

Christian

So glad I watched this movie and not the "adult industry" movie....The Brown Mile. Probably a lot different movies, huh?

DarrellWaller

According to Stephen King, John Coffey represented Jesus Christ (why he used the same initials in the name), the new Messiah who also died in the place of another.

Julia

Oh this movie is such a hearbreaker! I've seen it dozens of times and I'm crying right there with you. You know its an amazing movie when you sit through a 3 hour reaction and it feels too short. Frank Darabont movies are always amazing. (He also did Shawshank) It's hard to believe that The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption are Stephen King books but they're definitely 2 of his best. You should check out Stand by Me, The Shining and Doctor Sleep. Those are amazing Stephen King adaptations as well. Thanks for the reaction...great as always! Sending love for your tender heart Mrs. O! (Being an empath is a difficult road for me too!)

Jessica Houser

Heeeeeck yeah 🀟🏼

Josh Viz

33:34 Definitely make her watch the "Mousehunt", loved that movie, I'd watch the reaction too.

Michal KubΓ‘n

awwww! this one hurt!

Mr. October

right! they cut a whole bag when we watched !

Mr. October

i think in this one it was a mixture of both lol

Mr. October

lol trust we doing it

Mr. October

One of my all time favorite movies for sure. Only problem is every time I watch it someone decides to cut a bowl of onions lol

Reaction Junkie

I'm almost done but I gotta pause again because I'm at work and Mrs. O got me in some kinda crying domino affect 😭

Josh Viz

18:01 Yes, a perfect textbook example.

Michal KubΓ‘n

I feel like it was peak for almost everything :D Since then, we live in hell (with VR and amazing internet speed).

Michal KubΓ‘n

Bro don't watch this movie high lmao there's some happy moments yeah but it's not a vibe πŸ˜‚

Josh Viz

They do 2 episodes a video. 8 vids across 16 days is a somewhat reasonable expectation. Still I agree my hopes are low im just reacting to what they confidently just claimed.

Josh Viz

i started watching. if anything happens to that mouse im gonna lose my shit though.

Louie Anderson

Even after watching this movie many times ever since it first came out, I still cry my eyes out. It is a masterwork in the film industry. Brilliant story telling and superb cast. Like you say, once you see this movie, you realize what you were missing and grateful now to have seen it. Really makes us think about so many things on our life journey. Put on your list "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon...another movie that you won't regret watching.

Kim

It is worth watching. It is truly a masterwork in the film industry. The casting is perfect. Everyone needs a good cry now and then.

Kim

One of my all time favourites, seen it more times than I can count, and always makes me sob my heart out πŸ₯°πŸ˜‚

Wendy McIntyre

ha i was just about to smoke a bowl and spend my morning watch this but these comments are making me hesitant. do i really want to cry? or even be sad?

Louie Anderson

there's no way they finish season 1 before season 2 starts. That's 6 (LONG) episodes of GOT and then 10 full episodes of HOD. 16 episodes in 16 days... It would be awesome if they pulled it off but I highly doubt it.

Louie Anderson

Except Iron Fist lol

TC24

Lmao I knew Mrs. O was cooked about 5 minutes in when she's started crying to an old man walking in the woods

Josh Viz

House of the Dragon by mid June sounds amazing!! Thats so many more episodes in just 2 weeks. Yall about to feed us GOOD 🍝

Josh Viz

I don't know if this helps but I have seen The Green Mile at least 7 times and I still get every time so emotional, this is one of my favorite movies ever, looking forward to watch(and cry again) with you guys πŸ’™β€οΈ

Josip Buretić

Well, we'll have to see if we can top this one. Do you cry for happy as well as sad moments? I mostly get moist for happy.

Jim Schmitz

Daredevil is great but you dont need to finish the season to move forward in mcu. Feel free to take your time on it as you continue in mcu but do continue netflix marvel stuff. It is all so good.

Jay Owin

90s was the peak for movies

Jay Owin

omg!! why did all of you make me watch this!! my eyes and face are all swollen from crying so much! STILL CRYING! such an awesome movie! saw it years ago but still made me cry. thx for sharing your reaction on this one! I came to this channel for GOT and usually only watch GOT here but now ya got me with this one!

mgamer327 .

omg Jim I never cried so much in a movie! If there was a cry counter I think it'd be about 7 seriously!

Mr. October

Huh! I'm just watching Mrs. cry during 'Shawshank' and this pops up. Guess it's time for more (sniff, sniff).
